Is Beterbiev top 5 all time LHW with a win over Bivol?

That’s your personal criteria maybe but to judge a fighter solely by his peers and his results it becomes hard to rate fighters IMO. For instance where would you put someone like Bivins? He beat better fighters then Artur himself and would likely beat Artur but had nowhere near the results he did against his peers overall.

 

Why would Gene Tunneys HW bouts not count? Artur and everyone he fights are over the 175lbs limit?

 

I don't know how and why fights in other categories should be reflected on the LHW ATG list?

 

Artur isn't a real LHW so it’s only fair just in my opinion - to include HW wins for the LHWs who went up is Arthur really smaller then Dempsey?

 

Jimmy Bivins also lost to people that Beterbiev would have whitewashed too

Beterbiev is getting better because he is getting smarter as he is using more ring IQ to compensate for youth and athleticism

Depends on your criteria. He would only have 21 pro bouts. That’s a division with a rich history. I’m not sure he can amass the type of resume to crack top 10 let alone top 5. But judging by eye test, and taking in his outstanding amateur career, he could conceivably make some lists depending on how you make your list.
But he does need to beat Bivol and do so in impressive manner. His career resume is going to be short.

 

In Jimmy Bivins day that meant you had a lot of bad habits and that you weren’t ready for the pros. You fight often as a professional to hone your craft not 20ish bouts and a bunch of 3 rounders - a person gets good at what they practice. Arturs success with his career length is a sign of the times.All due respect to Artur he’s a tough man, an annihilator but I believe as he is he’d have been mastered by the old guard, he’s a great talent so in their world he might’ve become something truly special.
