Jai might win but he isn't outboxing Beterbiev. It is more likely that he gets outboxed and comes back and takes beterbiev out of there.
A younger Beterbiev would have been a tough fight, even now I don't think its easy for Jai but going by available info I have to pick Opetaia by UD (I think like with Briedis he will try to outbox Beterbiev) Jai is bigger, in his prime, can take a shot (see Briedis fight), & can move in & out really quick for a guy his size If they make the ring small then I think Beterbiev has a better chance
Bloody hell, Opetaia has 20lb on Beterbiev and is much, much quicker. He also doesn't lose out in any other area. His chin is granite, he hits like a hammer and has incredible ringcraft. Beterbiev is amazing but he is simply monstered here.
Great fight but we'll most likely never see it. Don't think AB will want to put on 15 more pounds just to make the CW limit and he'd still be way outweighed.
They said the same about Gvozdyk, who was a much better boxer than Opetaia, then in the ring it proceeded differently.
Opetaia is good but you are vastly overrating his boxing ability. As I said, he might win but he isn't shutting any of great amateurs out with just boxing.
But not a better boxer, which is what we are fighting over. He believes that Opetaia outboxes Beterbiev, which I can't see happening from what Opetaia has shown till now.
Jai was putting on a clinic for half of the Briedis fight, not even Usyk did that well the first 6 rounds.
