https://x.com/EverythingBoxi2/status/1747009107666567478?s=20 I’m honestly thinking what is the point in drug-testing of any sorts if the fighters continue to get cleared every time because they “unknowingly” took a substance. Even the Beterbiev ordeal was strange. There just might as well not be any testing if this is the case every time.
So basically, she’s guilty, and they’re putting her on probation, but not faulting her for using the banned substance Proviron (PEDS) #corruption
These test have been a PR stunt and was never meant for evening the playing field. Some are caught with IVs in their arm and get a pass. Others test positive but since they swore they didnt know they get a slap on wrist. Which begs the question. If everyone is on it why is it only a handful get caught. If everyone is using it then everyone knows how to cycle but you get caught cause you are to stupid to cycle /mask then you deserver it. Or it’s just some who use it and eventually get caught.
The saying is a drug test is really an IQ test. The sloppier a fighter the more likely they are to get caught.
Only in boxing does unintentional PED usage result in being cleared without any penalty. In other sports that would result in a shorter ban. A mountain runner I follow recently got a short ban for taking a medication. They took it not realising it contained a banned substance so didn't apply for a TUE so got banned. The responsibility is on the athlete to ensure they are clean, it's a part of their job and failure to do so isn't a defence. But apparently not in boxing according to the WBC. Al they done is put her on probation for 12 months. Also WBC don't have the power to enforce a ban on Baumgardner even if they wanted to, the boxing commission in that state is the only one that can ban her and even that wouldn't apply outside of the state. Boxing and anti-doping in the US is pointless because it's so disorganised and useless in regards to enforcing any real penalties.
They're all full of ****. Cleared her because she's a cash cow in the womens side of it. Boxing is bull**** and I'm getting sick of it. I'm going to stop watching and following it. Until tomorrow.
She claiming innocence now because of this, said she had a hair follicle test which proves her innocence. But we all know after the Canelo incident that's not very reliable, especially as she often colours her hair which would compromise the accuracy of any test due to the compounds in hair dyes.
