Joyce has been mostly written off. His ranking with the WBC is earned. It´s actually surprising that only the WBC ranks him.
Joyce beat: Bryant Jennings, Daniel Dubois, Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker.
His resume is solid and he more than earned his standing.

I don´t get this forum´s obsession with belittling British heavyweights. They consistently produce guys who are capable of beating top 10 contenders and even win world titles. And same goes for rest of the British boxers. It´s like people hate the fact that the British fans show so much love and support of their boxers.

And you complain about Makhmudov. He is still ranked by 3 of the 4 organizations.

Wilder v Parker was a tough one to call seeing as Wilder had only had the 1 round helenius blowout , but Parker had looked underwhelming at times, so again, what point are you trying to make?

Possibly similar to Wilder. Being knocked out like that can take a lot from you, and when one takes such punishment, he is no longer the same fighter. I fear we will see a shell of the best Joe Joyce in his next fights after Kash, I mean Kash is a absolute bum no offence - especially as age and mental determination creeps up to him.

I really don't want it to be a situation where the current version of Joyce would get absolutely bullied by the Joyce of a few years ago.

I'd like to see Joyce have a Bakole or Yoka fight this year after taking care of Kash.

Likewise... Even at this point, Joyce is probably still better than anyone Wilder's beaten.

They're both tailor made for each other in many ways - which makes it interesting.

 

Modern fans are cancerous and they don't realize that it's because of them that boxers are afraid of losing they unbeaten streak. Imagine putting a boxer down like this cause he lost a fight no wonder MMA is more popular lame post.

 

Dubois is top ten simply by place of birth. What makes him even top 20? a win over a rusty roid free Miller? a win over bum Bryan? those are by far his best wins and they are mediocre at best.

 

I mean, that kind of logic can go on indefinitely. 'Who's he beaten?' 'Him'. 'OK, well, who's HE beaten.' Kinda bores me. Dubois' resumé isn't great, but that doesn't mean he's not a solid win in Joyce's resume, which is probably among the 5 best in the division, maybe even better than Wilder's tbh, especially with Parker as a shared opponent.

 

Joyce should have been pushed into fire with Jalolov, it's an opponent to restore confidence because you have to take risks, Kash Ali is just a punching bag wearing shorts...
