Joe Louis vs David Tua

I went with Louis by decision. But I can see this being a hard fight. Tua was If nothing else durable and hard hitting.

 

If Tua lands that left it’s over. Louis has to go either 12 or 15 rounds trying not to get tagged by it. A huge task. As for Tua. One if the best chins. I’ll go for Tua by ko.

 

I think Louis dominated enough "guy hits hard and has great chin" type of fighters to know Tua isn't lasting the distance here.

 

Louis was KTFO by sub 200 Schmeling.

Tua cracks Louis chin with the first left hook he lands.

Tua punches harder than Baers and Galento.

 

I'm sure those guys would have won if only they had even more power

 

Tua is a better boxer than Louis.

 

Tua is one of those that, right place and time, could do it.
He hits a hell of a lot harder than some that put Joe down, albeit briefly.

 

So good all his losses came from getting outboxed.

 

So a Cruiserweight size heavyweight stops Tua. Ok. Louis doesn’t get caught once with a big hook. Ok. If he does he shakes it off. I don’t think so. Tua too powerful, strong and durable.

 

If only we could see Joe take left hooks from massive punchers and how he would recover and deal with them.
Too bad we have no idea how he would deal with a world beater like Tua who was impossible to counter and outbox.

 

Yeah, he gets the decision and perhaps a standing stoppage. That's a huge perhaps though. Tua was a tank.
