Strickland decides to come on in the last seconds of the last round. Lol. He needed to do this 2 rounds ago

    3-2 Strickland

He won the final round clearly.

This is a very close fight. Could go either way.

It wasn't that close imo, now we know there's going to be a rematch.

The 3rd round was the swing round. 2 judges had it for DDP and 1 for Strickland.

1 and 5 was clear Strickland and 2 and 4 was DDP.

I thought it was very close. I wouldn’t mind a rematch.

48-47 either was fair, but DDP takedowns made the difference.

I thought the takedowns stole the rounds for Du.

    just watched it.

FFS, He tried to fight exactly the same way he did vs Israel. Way too patient. Didn't force the issue. Horrible 3rd and 4th rounds which cost him. It wasn't going to work twice in a row with the shoulder roll and counter punch. It's not boxing FFS abd you're not Floyd Mayweather.

Zhang Weili (c) vs. Yan Xiaonan
Justin Gaethje (c) vs. Max Holloway
    Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
    Jiří Procházka vs. Aleksandar Rakić
    Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling
    Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage
    Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt
    Jim Miller vs. Bobby Green

I wouldn´t say it´s terrible. But it really comes down to the main event.

He definitely needs to add to his arsenal, especially when it comes to the ground game. His style is perfect to hide a few surprise takedowns.
He doesn´t even have to do anything on the ground, just score the takedowns.

Strickland could have easily won this and the Cannonier fight with just a few takedowns.

It was a close fight but I thought Strickland took it.

It was too close in my view to take his belt away.

To be the champion you have to BEAT the champion and Duplesis just did not do that.

At best, he edged the fight by a razor thin margin. Hardly a convincing win.

I thought the same thing @NoChin plus i just finished watching it right now so late.

SS had the first but weirdly after the first round gave all the rest away up until the 5th but even that he couldn't win due to the circumstances, what happened, seemed he kind of did what he was criticizing Covington of doing in a way, he should have pushed it more & tried to get DDP tired but instead he followed that strategy.

Either way they might rematch down the line plus i'm happy for DDP he showed grit, heart & a strong chin to go with it.
