It’s absolutely grim, I know Jonas Mayer ended up a good fight but I have zero interest in women’s boxing (as do most seeing as the viewing figures and tickets sold are terrible) yet they’ve basically taken over sky at this point, the only decent fight on paper was Chelli Cullen and that ended up a stinker, I’m glad the Saudis have jumped on boxing at least they won’t put this woke shite up and force everyone to watch a load of birds having a slapping contest all night

January is always a long and dreary month for boxing fans.

 

The fight did not live up to expectations at all and the undercard was not particularly exciting. Lucky for Sky / Boxxer that the main event was good.

 

The fight did live up to the expectations of many on here who posted pre fight this ticklefest would go to points and Jonas likely to get a home town decision.

Incredibly Anna Woolley stated 'this is a Fight of the Year Contender' along with Hagler v Hearns comparison mentioned post fight.

The card was a stinker, the main event was always going to be a stinker and boxxer are having a real stinker on Sky.

 

I scored 97 - 93 for Mayer. With "friendly Jones eyes" it might be scored 96 - 94 to Mayer. Jonas definitely did not win the fight and she should give Mayer a rematch.

I’ve been waiting for someone to mention Adam Smith but to be fair I thought it would be along the lines of ‘ bring back Adam Smith’. It was Adam Smith who started this type of commentary, creating a narrative before a punch was thrown, following the narrative no matter what and finally, at the conclusion, banging on about how great it was, completely disrespecting the people watching.
