Fury is in an awkward position, he's always been the best boxer in the ring every time he has fought, but now he's facing someone smaller, faster and better at him at boxing. Should the gameplan be to malleable and box with him and see how it goes? then maybe press the action? r should he just press him from the start? This is huge, if he boxes with Usyk from R1 he could find himself down on the scorecards by a large amount without making Usyk work by round 6.

I think he needs to smother him and rough house him inside, forget boxing.

I wouldn't necessarily say Fury has to pick one or the other. However, Fury does needs to use Usyk's rhythm against Usyk himself by using his feints and herky jerky style whilst using his lateral movement switching from orthodox to southpaw, which I can defo see Usyk getting puzzled by. In addition, Fury needs to use his reach advantage to throw that power double jab like he did against Wilder with mean intentions, and whenever Fury throws a punch he needs to clinch, and physically impose himself - it would be ugly but effective enough.

I think Fury will win a fairly close points decision here.

I think Fury should (and I think he will) use a combination of tactics. He will be well drilled and prepared for this fight and I see him boxing and using rough house tactics to try and neutralise Usyk’s constant movement.

I don’t necessarily think solely relying on either would work well. I think if Fury fights like he did against Wilder in their second fight, he will have the most success (and imo win the fight).

When I picture the fight in my mind I see nothing but Fury crushing Usyk just bowling him right over and stopping him by mid-rounds or earlier. Ever since I first thought about this fight that's been my gut feeling and I still can't shake it. I would love to see Usyk win though that's for sure!

    Mix of tactics
He will need everything he has to win this fight and vice versa

All banter aside, I don't think either fighter has an easy night. It's going to be close and perhaps controversial

I'm actually starting to think a draw could be on the cards

    May be worth a bet

I think Fury will invent an injury and withdraw from fighting Usyk.

Both. Why chase him when he's the taller man, let the smaller Usyk come to him and smother him when misses with a big shot or Usyk get's too close.

If he starts on the front foot trying to smother him, he'll play into Usyk's hands and allow Usyk to box and move which is his forte. But if he makes Usyk come to him first then he forces Usyk to lead more.

He should only transition into a more front foot aggressive style if it's clear what he's doing isn't working. That's what Joshua failed to do, he couldn't adapt mid fight when it was clear the game plan wasn't working.

    He will try box him.
He got massive reach and height advantage. Why dont try use it behind jab and footwork?

That's why I expect him come to fight light. The questions is 2.
    1. How losing weight on camp and do that quick (2 or 3 months?) will work on his body. He can be faster but also he can be tired. Boar meet from one farmer would help but they dont love him anymore
    2. If Fury loosing weight and try being quick boxer is even possibile after all this years and what he do to himself.

Im pretty sure that he try first this. And how Usyk react on this and how he will deal with him fighting like that would be case to change or not change tactic for fight.

I belive Usyk will be much quicker and sooner or later his foot give him advantage and make him catch his distance.
Then Fury probably will try to quickly stop his punches with clinching game.

And here we need propper reffery inside the ring to not make this fight dirty wrestling match for Fury.

I don’t think he should box with Usyk, Usyk would outbox him. Look at the wallin fight, he was struggling with wallin when he was trying to box with him, then after he got the cut he switched tactics and just went for wallin and got success. Depends on fury’s gas tank though cause in the Ngannou fight he looked gassed out towards the end and he barely did anything.

I think he'll probably start out trying to box him and see how it goes. If it's working he'll stick with it, if it isn't he'll start dogfighting him.

But in the end we're all overthinking it. Sugar Hill's genius plan is to land the RH and go home early. Dats all he need to do!

    This 100%

All other things being equal, if Fury can keep Usyk at the end of his jab and not finding openings, then it's an easy night for Fury, he dictates the fight and keeps it at his pace (see Wlad and Chisora 2). Fury should only look to smother and roughhouse if keeping Usyk at distance fails and Usyk finds a way in.

Going straight on the offensive just opens Fury up to angles and counters, while depleting his gas tank.

That said, I think Fury's footwork and jab (elbows?) have declined such that he won't be able to do what he did to Wlad and Chisora, plus Usyk is crafty and WILL find a way in at some point. So he is going to have to plan and use his energy and tactics effciently IMO, and have plenty of juice left for the championship rounds

I think we're all sick of Fury & hoping Usyk retires him.

But then I thought AJ would be too big and too powerful... And look how that went

Sure Fury's bigger, longer and heavier again... But less powerful, and Usyk took plenty from AJ without major issues.

This is not true . I,m personally not a fury fan , do not support his pure arrogant appearance even when i realize its part of his show and nobody of us knows him personally .

But when choosing one of them both to win - i,m for fury . I know the majority here has another opinion ;-)
