That was on PPV as the UK arm before Naz v Kelly from New York in the early hours.

I agree. This is exactly what I wrote in a previous thread. Darke and McCrory were really good together. Jim Watt was the co-commentator for Reg Gutteridge.

Never thought Darke and Watt found the chemistry.

You can have a skilled main commentator and a skilled co-commentator, but it is not certain that they will work well together.

The boxing events that were on Sky Box Office in the 90s were absolutely fantastic. UK Shows with 4 - 5 title fights followed by a big US show. Back then, customers really got value for money.

Said this before on here but one of the best things Sky ever did was put Reg and Jim onto the first Tyson-Holyfield PPV; it gave the coverage a bit more weight at a time Sky was still in the early days.

"That's the biggest upset in the fight game, bar none," he said. If it had come from Adam Smith you'd think it was nonsense.

Yes you’re right about Halling. Wasn’t the best but better than what followed.

Loved Reg, for me he was THE commentator of the 80's, he had a great chemistry with Jim Watt, plus he's one of the few people to leave Muhammad Ali speechless........

I agree. Reg Gutteridge was the voice of boxing in the 80s.

I'm old enough to remember Harry Carpenter :)

Same. While I liked Harry, he could be quite dismissive of fighters, in some cases, a bit disrespectful.

Whereas Reg and Jim had more of a respect for fighters, even if Jim could sometimes be brutal on fighters he deemed not to have put in a decent shift

And I don't think she won the first 3 either. Judges swayed by the crowd because Jonas came out quick but it wasn't really having any effect.

On reflection a couple of days later, nothing has changed and it was a shocking decision. Is there much point of Mayer getting a rematch only to get robbed again?

That's twice she’s been wronged over here, if she has any sense she won’t be back.

Latest from that deluded clown Jonas is that she wants her next ‘fight’ at Anfield. There are no words.

Listening to Fight Disciplies which I do rate

The excitement they taking about with this fight don't seem to match what I saw of it.

Maybe I'm just a huge sexist

No I belive we have had no boxing in 4 weeks , the undercard was horrendous so an evenly matched average fight had everyone going overboard.

Even today, sky and booxer have announced marku and kongo have signed to fight each other !!!
That's big news to them , wow

5 years ago Marku v Kongo would have been about 4 fights down an undercard.
