Spinks was a great fighter and I'm sure he could have won a lot of fights and made a lot more money if he would have kept going. But he was also an intelligent thoughtful guy and I have to admire him for retiring after his first loss (and it sure was a horrendous one). I assume he reasoned it was better to not risk his marbles anymore and be content with the money he already made.

Yes, but what does "completely shot" mean? Past prime? Because usually the term is used when describing someone like Mike Tyson in 2004 or Danny Williams from 2010 and onward. Fighters whose bodies no longer respond to them.
