- Both guys are incredibly talented and athletically gifted, but also extremely inconsistent - James is a master of the shoulder roll, while Teo is also exceptional at it, especially his catch and shoot - They both had trouble with boxers, Griffin/Martin, but feasted on guys that just came forward - Had astounding wins against the top guys, Nunn/Loma, fumbled slightly then moved up and beat Jirov/Taylor - Toney fought Holyfield, a legend in a way higher weight class, while Teo already calling out Bud - Talked a lot of sh*t - And in my opinion, Teo v Devin has the potential to be like Toney vs Mccallum, not necessarily in terms of skill level yet, but stylistically, Mccallum used the jab a lot in his fight with Toney Thoughts? Do you think Teo has the potential to be an ATG like Toney or maybe even surpass him? and who do you think Teo needs on his resume to achieve that status?
I absolutely cannot stand Lopez but if he intends to become an ATG he's made a great start at the very least on paper, doesn't duck the hard fights unlike so many others although he should have lost to Martin
Yeahh I also wasn't a fan of him at first, but the Loma and Taylor wins really showed that he is elite
What an odd comparison. They aren't even close to being similar at all. That's an insult to James Toney.
That was my initial feeling on first watch, watching again I think Lopez deserved the win by a point, but Loma really showed his quality by making that fight so close, especially since he didn't really figure it out until the second half of the fight (EDIT and as you say, one armed!) A lot of people will laugh but I don't think we will ever see another Lomachenko
