Think Anfield is appropriate for the next Jonas fight as long as the Boxing Ring can fit in the away dressing room.

The fighters can make their ring entrance from the shower area and the seat filler sites can ensure that the dressing room benches will be full on all three sides.

Just remembering SS gave us Bowe v Holyfield 1, when having Sky as a boxing fan was legendary, but of course it’s not in the same league as Saturday’s ‘fight of the year’.

I know that was yonks ago, a bad example and there has been loads and loads of good fights since then, but honestly as a boxing fan why would you subscribe to Sky Sports. For what?

the thing is, the UK is the only market that pays through the nose for women’s boxing, for whatever reason. she’ll be back.

 

I would be unsubscribing from Sky if Sky Sports was not a multi sport channel and very disappointed with boxing most weeks across Sky Sports, TNT Sports and DAZN UK - my sub for DAZN UK is about to run out and I am never subscribing again.

When DAZN UK started charging Box Office, that was the end for me. The UK based cards have also been very disappointing and I have zero interest in women's football.

The same decsion would be reached for the other 2 Sports Broadcasters if they were not multi sports channels.

Looks like the Saudi's will monopolise the big events now leaving UK cards full of the dross they don't want supported by ever increasing female fights.

Yeh everyone saying no one is interested in womens boxing.Just blokes being blokes but the fact is like it or not womens boxing has an audience.As i keep saying if you dont like it just dont watch,i was there it was a fantastic fight albeit spoiled by the wrong decision.Really looking forward to the Sandy Ryan v Terri Harper fight

Some perspective.

Other than the recent darts phenomenon getting 4 million viewers, Sky Sports has a decent baseline audience who will watch anything - and yet there’s only a press release when women’s sport gets some numbers without any context.

Women’s football gets more than this fight did. Women’s golf gets more.

Why not dig out some regular numbers for comparison and see if they’re really worth shouting about? 3m people watch Sky Sports Mix every month for example and that’s where the big women only card went in 2022. Did they announce a bumper card for that, given the channel is free to any Sky subscriber?

 

She'd do well to sellout the Anfield changing rooms.
