Boxers who (seem to) have there health intact post career?

I think a lot of factors like ballooning in-weight, diminishing social connections, suboptimal dietary choices (not bad, but not nearly as nutritious for the brain as day fish-walnut-fast type of habits could be) play an untold role in many fighters mental decline.

 

Yeah you really did. Larry has always been somewhat arrogant no reason to wish bad health on him. Wow.

As far as the OP, a lot of examples given are wrong so far. Just untrained eyes not understanding that the prison of mind doesn't always express outwardly. I think naming names as to "who people think is good but clearly are showing damage" is not classy so I won't. I can second that McGuigan seems ok. Marciano seemed OK before his unfortunate demise.

 

George Chuvalo sounds like a nuclear physicist. Also Randell Cobb seems to be doing alright. Amazing that those guys took so much punishment

Tunney for sure. One of the best defensive fighters of all time with only one loss which wasn't a KO and retired during his prime.

Sharkey and Schmeling for sure, but Tunney suffered a family tragedy, and drank himself into an early grave.

 

Seems like Cobb has been off the radar for a while, at least I haven’t come across anything with him. His acting career dried up … have to wonder why. Hope he’s doing well. A true treasure.
