He cleaned out the division. He's done more than any SMW has done in the last decade. If ANYONE has earned the right to take a few easy money fights it's Canelo. Benavidez just started to fight top fighters in Andrade and a Canelo left over. Sure He's the mandatory, ok. Canelo will either have to vacate, get stripped, or fight him. What's the problem. There's still one more month before the WBC can enforce the fight.
Sure let's see them fight.. but if Canelo wants some easy fights he's earned it more than anyone else. Benavidez has one decent fight under his belt. He can wait.
There is no right to take easy fights. That's not a thing. Canelo is a champion, he should defend against worthy contenders. If you don't want him to face his toughest contender, should he even be a champion any more? The problem is we all want to see the best fight in the division and it's not being made.
So David has to force the fight with an ordered Mandatory, while Canelo goes ahead fighting multiple fighters who have never even fought in the division and have been inactive? Must be fan boy logic.
Maybe I’m the only one here but I could care less if Benavidez ever fights Canelo. He needs to move on. It’s clear Canelo doesn’t want to fight him. Whether it’s uninterest or genuine belief that he can’t beat Benavidez, Canelo won’t fight the guy. Move on. Frankly I’m ready to see what Morrell and Munguia do in the division. They seem to be hungry and want the big fights. If Benavidez thinks there’s nothing left of value in the division outside of Canelo fight, move up to 175. There are definitely some exciting fights he can make there.
Almost every aging fighter who has a big following has taken on easier money fights as they grow older. There's rules in boxing. Canelo has until next month to decide whether to vacate or fulfill his mandatory. If he chooses to fight Munguia in September then he will be stripped. Benavidez will then be able to fight for the title against #2 or he will be promoted from interim to full champion. So don't get your panties in a bunch.
Arguing with Clenela fans is mental. Absolutely waste of time. One of the most delusional fans out there. The guy is cherry-picking his whole career. The other is getting gift-decision left and right, absolutely robberies. He is ducking Benavidez for good years now, and seeing how his mental fans trying to excuse him is laughable. You are making a mockery of yourself, but knowing Clenela fans, like shadow and Isal, what do you expect?
