Mike vs Floyd Patterson: who wins

Probably pretty easily

 

Floyd easily. Easily.

 

Weaver wasn't a particularly good boxer but had a tendency to come back later in the bout while conceding earlier rounds easily. Patterson however was not a puncher who would lose steam easily with each passing round. I think Patterson takes this.

 

I give the nod to Patterson in this one.
However I feel kind of uncomfortable remembering what a jelly chin Patterson had.
After all if Ingo dropped him seven times ...

 

I had to re-read the thread title, after seeing the OP, because my brain said that you definitely said 'Tyson' in the title. But you didn't. So, I have to accept that.

There isn't much to analyze here. Weaver was brave, tough, and has decent skills, but he's outmatched in so many categories. I give him maybe a 30% punchers chance, but Patterson scoring a KO is within the realm of possibility given Weaver sometimes started slow.

I think Patterson simply outworks and outboxes the game but somewhat limited Weaver before getting a fairly convincing decision (maybe 8 rounds to 4 or so) or stops Weaver late. It would be very exciting and Weaver would have his moments, probably even scoring at least 1 knockdown, but he probably can't pull it off. Patterson is just too good, too fast, too schooled.
