Wow, I haven't thought of Pigmy in a while. As far as I can tell, he was never a world champion but you are right, these fights are going to cause him damage. As for why he fights, maybe he needs the money or maybe he's addicted to the train and fight lifestyle. It's impossible to say.

He was WBA world champion, but he lost his title at the first defense.

He should become a coach like Suriyan Sor Rungvisai.

I didn't realize Pigmy was still at it but yeah - eight loss skid with seven by stoppage all in under a year, past the age of forty, seven divisions above your prime weight? Call it, buddy.

There is also Phissanu Chimsunthom, a former world challenger in the Light Flyweight who faced Kazuto Ioka in 2013 who took a severe knockout recently against a Filipino prospect Benny Cannete :

Finally another boxer like Pygmy, it is Panya Tok " Pungluang Sor Singyu" who is the former WBO bantamweight world champion who has also become prey for young boxers :

He should be banned from boxing just like Panya Uthok. They take too many hits and defeats in a row. Phulaikhao we are on 8 defeats in a row by stoppage.

Sorry, I could certainly be wrong but looking at his record I still don't see where he was a world champion. I see he fought for a title twice and lost both times. That being said, Boxrec is not always right ... and neither am I.

You're right, I made a mistake. He's a former world challenger, unlike Panya Uthok.

One seemed to think it was a good idea to matchup 48 year old Yoshihiro Akiyama against Nieky Holzken in a weird mixed rules match. 3 rounds under 3 different rulesets - Boxing, Muay Thai, and finally MMA. Akiyama didn't have a ghost of a chance here. Even if he had somehow survived the boxing round he would be compeletely ****ed in the Muay Thai round. 2 straightrounds as an old man under disciplines where there's a huge skill discrepancy going against him. He was doomed from the getgo. Would have actually been more fair/interesting had the opening round been under MMA rules.
