    Wtf are you talking about?
It doesn´t matter how cut one is during the weigh-in. It doesn´t make them perform any better, It´s actually bad to dehydrate oneself.
I am saying, that right now when Crawford weighs in at 147, he is likely 160+ on fight night. If he is 160 on fight night but doesn´t have to cut to that for the weigh in, then that´s a net positive for him.

 He's cut the way he is at 147 because he had his optimal training camp and in ideal shape and condition for 147. It's his training camp that gets him down properlu to 147. He's 160 plus on fight night because he ate and drank more after his weigh in. I can;t be more clear than that. You disagree, fine. Deal with someone else.

He is 160 because thats his optimal weight. At that weight he is able to cut down to 147 for the weigh in. If he were 168 before a fight, I doubt he could get to 147. If he were 154, he would probably still be at 140 or even 135.

But please, by all means, explain to me how making weight for a fight benefits a fighter. What are the mechanics behind that?
If Crawford is 160 lbs after his fight camp, shows up to the weigh in at 160(against Canelo, for instance) and on fight night is at 160, then that is his optimal fight weight. With the added bonus of not having to dehydrate himself.

*also, it´s basically impossible for an individual, especially an athlete to gain over 1lb of fat per day.

I don´t. Maybe I am explaining myself badly.
Crawford has to cut down to 147, right? Lets say his fight night weight is 160lbs, meaning he cuts 13 lbs.
Now if he were to have his usual fight camp, everything went perfect, he trained just like always and was once again 160lbs on fight, how would cutting down to 147 the day before benefit him?
I don´t get it. He is simply dehydrating himself.

Dude, EVERY fighter who has ever boxed has to cut down to their optimal fighting weight. NO ONE fights at their walking around weight.
And no, that doesn't means he cut 13 pounds. That just means he added 13.

And he's not going to have his usual camp and weigh in at 160 looking as fit and trim as if he went to 147. His usual camp is what gets him to 147.

If TC weighs in at 160, and gains more weight for fight night, he'd look much worse.

Hence the need to add lean mass and muscle to weigh in properly at 160 or even 168.

Some of y'all just over analyze this stuff, thinking you have the answer to weight

Yes, but I am saying he wouldn´t have to put on weight!
If he has a fight camp and always is 160 on fight night, then he can do the same without cutting down to 147. He would simply weigh in at 160 and fight at 160 which he always does anyways.

No one can gain 13 lbs in a day. That´s impossible. What is possible is to dehydrate yourself, which is bad for the body(can give mental clarity/sharpness).
The simply is no benefit to cutting weight if you are in good physical condition.

I am sorry, but you are simply wrong. And even if not, you haven´t explained to me how I am wrong.
If at your peak physical shape you are 160 lbs, then how does cutting down to 147 benefit you physically?

All it means is you are dehydrating yourself and fighting others who do the same. Instead of fighting at 160 where everyone else is cutting down from 170+.

So your argument that this is a good fight for Canelo is that Jermall lacks the discipline to make agreed-upon catchweights when moving up? That's not him no longer being a middleweight, that's him being a lazy jackass. Canelo is going to do worse to him then he did to his brother, everyone knows it, and not even Charlo lovers are trying to deny it. That is why it is lame.

All you guys moaning & complaining about Gingers Cherry Pickin antics, the ball is in your court. DONT buy the garbage. I haven't bought a PPV in many years & wouldn't at any price. While you lemmings buy the blatant $$$$ grabbing garbage they'll keep putting em out. I suppose while I was more active in the sport I was luckier than most I didn't have to buy my seat too often. Think guys every PPV you buy or seat you buy youre actually doing more harm than good to the sport. If you don't buy the garbage they'll be forced to improve it

How so? Jermall is better than his brother and is actually big enough to take a punch from Canelo without having to fear him the whole match. The only way Canelo would do Jermall worse is if Jermalls abilities have degraded severely from his 2-3 year layoff, which they could've but based on him slowly getting back to who he was as the Jose Benavidez fight progressed I doubt it.

However poor this fight may turn out, Jermall should atleast be able to put up a better fight than his brother did.
