    So do we review Bernard Hopkins' legacy because he lost to the average Jermain Taylor?

    Also, GGG was clearly SO much better 6 years ago in 2013 than today.

    I think Mad Max is 50% right and 50% on the nose candy.
    GGG is older and not looking like he did 5 years ago but at his age that is expected.

    Don’t dismiss all of what Max said TBH

    What he said at 0:10 is idiotic. Not contested at the same speed or skill level?
    @IntentionalButt

    Agreed with IB, the skill level in the middleweight fight was much higher. How could Kellerman gotten is so wrong?

    Herald Lederman was correct on both fights.

    Always remember, 38 ringside reporters had the 2nd fight for GGG, 15 had it a draw, and 2 had it for Canelo, and that was the far closer fight. :lol:

    I felt he lost the SD fight 114-113 but again thats a slim margin and I only watched it once

    Was golovkin overated? I think so, he was the best middleweight in the world for a period so obviously no bum and Martinez, Cotto and Sturm wanted no part of him. However I think some fans got carried away with his ranking myself included at the time.

    Even though I felt he won the first canelo fight, I felt a guy with his reputation as a puncher and dominant amateur should have been more effective and dominant. Canelo had a lot of success and banked plenty of rounds and sort of ruined the destroyer image golovkin had created for himself

    Wow, that's a Stephen A. Smith tier bad take, Max. :nono:

    Even if you scored the fight to Derevyanchenko (which is valid enough), making the leap from that half of the statement to its conclusion is just faulty heuristics. It was late in GGG's career, and Derevyanchenko is pretty damn good...so extrapolating that he was "always overrated" because one fight could've gone the other way? Poppycock.

    You can even hold both opinions separately if you want (IMO you'd be wrong, but hey, free country) - that he lost to SD and was overrated - but they're not interdependent thoughts; one doesn't constitute sole proof of the other.

    Honestly I thought GGG lost a razor thin fight against Sergey but he's hardly overrated. Think of how much he was held back early days by his German promoters. He was late getting to the States and of course was avoided for years. Kellermans opinions aren't valued anyway that's one reason Disney/ESPN bounced him.
