You will love the opening scene in the bar where the camera pans the bar. You'll be sitting there saying, "Hey that's so and so and that's so and so..." I won't ruin it for you by naming anyone, but you'll love it.

Realistically, Mike Tyson plays himself in every movie he's been in (and he's been in quite a few if you check out his IMDB). Even when he's done roles in action movies where he isn't specifically referred to by his name, it's clear his character is just meant to be himself.

He filmed a great fight scene with Donnie Yen in IP Man 3 where he wasn't referred to by name, but it was clear he was playing as the real world Mike Tyson (who apparently moved to Hong Kong and became a crime boss). And I believe accidentally broke Donnie Yen's hand during filming.

Mike Tyson played himself in a cheap-arse Indian film 'Liger'. Or maybe another character, I am not sure. And then he totally forgot about it, LOL.

Muhammad Ali played himself in the film 'The Greatest'.

    Watch the movie here:

Many don't know that the role of Lou Ann's boyfriend in King of The Hill is voiced over by none other than Tom Petty.

Not that he has anything to do with boxing, but.....

The original was a live TV play starring Jack Palance and Karl Malden. It was shown on UK Channel 4 in 1982 as a feature of its launch week. I have looked for it everywhere but no cigar. Way, way better than the film.

It’s great that you mentioned the play LG because it came up when I was previously searching for the movie version. Here’s the play 1956 (restored) that I think you’re talking about - and the quality is very good -

In mild fairness, he's done bit parts in a LOT of movies. Not all that crazy for it to all blend together.
