I’m of the opinion it wasn’t staged, but I also believe Fury is delighted to have more time to get ready. He has done everything in his power to delay this fight for well over a year and imo is attempting to age Usyk out. He did the same with Wlad, he constantly delayed and pulled out to try and crush his motivation. I think it’s an outrageous strategy and he should be penalised. The vast majority have had enough of his antics.
I don’t know if it was faked but I had no doubt at all that this fight wasn’t going ahead and that it would be fury who pulled out I just wish I had backed it. But let’s be real here there’s no way either promoter wanted this fight to go ahead as planned because it didn’t have any hype around it, granted the Saudis put the money up regardless but it’s not just the fighters who care about legacy, imagine a situation where the first ever four belt heavyweight unification fight didn’t sell, it would be beyond embarrassing. I think that there was no intention of the fight happening and that was obvious from the lack of pr and promoting of it. I think boxing is already going through a hard time and all these fights in Saudi are just making it worse, I have watched a few over there now and the atmosphere just sucks the heat out of the battle and you can see it in the performance of the fighters. Let’s knock this silliness on the head and get back to stadium fights and partisan crowds.
I initially thought there was no way it could have been an elbow because it looked 100% deliberate so it must have been a punch, but apparently it was an elbow, which is shocking considering it was a clear deliberate MMA style inside elbow.. It was not a missed punch that turned into an elbow. Problem is the conspiracy that they staged an elbow for a cut to pull out is extremely wild, and ridiculous, so now I'm not sure.
I'd reconsider the "age Usyk out" idea. Not so fast or vast When I first looked at the poll it was running a good 2:1 Yes. As more sensible members have entered the thread, it's now 3:2. I'm going to paraphrase an old George Carlin joke. Look at the intelligence of the average sports board poster (not you or me of course). Now realize that about half are dumber than that !!
I don’t think so. It would be easy to catch Fury for faking a cut. If he were going to fake something a joint injury or something like that would be easier to fake. If he was faking the cut it would be hard to get away with since a lot of people will see him in the next months while the cut heals. If he had a surgeon cut him or something a lot of people would know and it would be hard to keep quiet. He is smart enough to know that and would just say he hurt his shoulder and can’t throw a jab or something. Most people would not step anywhere near a boxing ring if they were a multi millionaire. Why not just get into another business? He will stil fight Usyk imo he just cut himself.
I’ve watched the vid just a couple of times. I need several more viewings to firm up on what I think I’m seeing - if that will even help - the quality is poor as everyone has already agreed. Initially I thought punch - it sounded like the glove compression you hear along with a solid connection - I don’t know that an elbow landing on headgear would make the same sound - maybe, but I’m not sure. If defaulting it to an elbow, then it appears very deliberate but apparently contacting the jaw, not the area where the cut is. If the sport has any credibility to it - or wants to claw back some credibility - a full examination of the injury should be carried out by impartial, arms length medicos. That examination should also ask for descriptions of how the injury came to pass - from both Fury and those in attendance. As far as comparing the various theories to the propositions of flat earth era, lol, it DOESN’T compare. Metaphorically speaking, in respect of his previously proven falsehoods and contrivances, the Earth has actually been proven to be “FLAT” in Fury’s abstract world from time to time. Btw, did anyone notice the shadowy figure in the corner of the gym - the one who appeared to be holding something that looked like a pea shooter device - aiming and blowing into that thing just prior to Fury’s recoiling after the alleged punch/elbow cut? Call me crazy, but the sparring partner wasn’t working alone imo. He was working in tandem, having positioned Fury for a clear shot from Mr X.
If it wasn't staged then its a case of Fury having pulled this kind of BS one too many times for people to believe him when a training accident happens for real.
Firstable this was explored as a possibility. I don't see anyone claiming without shadow of a doubt that Fury has done it to himself(aka his doctor). It was a possibility, and given his track history a very good one. Funny how his fans are mad about people questioning his injury, when he himself alongside his fans were accusing Haye of the exact same thing. The Fury quote on Haye inflicting the cut by himself was floating around on this or other similar topic. Even Krassyuk brings that point. So Fury and his fans can make such a claim, but you see no one should, when the guy is a proven PED cheater, a proven Ducker, and has a history of faking injuries and pulling out of the fight, and is delaying this fight for a good 2 years now. And this is the second canceling of an official date, and let's not forget how he lied his own fans that he was in a camp last year for the supposed Usyk fight in April, a fight he never wanted back then. Just for his own trainer to expose him. His fans lost credibility long time ago defending every single blatant thing Fury has done blindly. You can believe anything you want, but there is a zero chance that i buy anything comes from Fury or his team.
He did something similar to John McDermott. Kept pushing back the date of the rematch leaving McDermott hanging. Eventually McDermott ran out of funds to hold a proper camp
Normally I'd say is it **** But I've been beating the drum that fury doesn't want this fight for a few years now..n that punch looked flush on the chin to me lol
