I'm at the point with Matias where I'm willing to bestow a top 10 P4P ranking on his opponents just for having the plums to get in a ring with him. I can easily find a place for Paro because he can take that gigantic weight bully ''chicken'' Haney's place who has never fought anyone remotely close to his own size and doesn't want a goddamn sniff of that smoke with Matias. When you sign to fight Matias it's akin to walking up to the gates of hell and unlocking and opening them
I wish it was a unification fight because with Matias style, his prime likely won't last long which is why guys like Huggy will try to age him out. But so long as he is in his prime, win, lose or draw its hard to find a more exciting fighter I am glad he left PBC, may be Hearn can build him into the star he deserves to be & get him the paydays he deserves. Matchroom is already working with the Saudi's unlike the PBC, so I hope to see him on 1 of the big Saudi cards later this year after they hold this fight in PR Its painful when fighters like this fight to half empty arena's while Shakira gets big screen advertisements at baseball games. It does boxing's popularity no good when that happens
See, this kind of post I could maybe see being labeled as "overrating" but a) it's clearly tongue in cheek banter and b) it's also kinda not wrong.
He's like the Boogeyman. He takes or blocks your best shots and just walks you down and drowns and there seemingly isn't anything you can do about it even if you can really crack. He's a horrible opponent to be standing in the opposite corner of.
If I was a pro pugilist in the 140lb division, I'm electing to fight Haney instead of Matías five thousand times of five thousand. Maybe higher percentage chance of beating Matías with a lucky shot, but so what? That is greatly offset by the certitude of exponentially greater odds of getting brain damage from him than from Dreampuff.
Paro will win and become a world champion. I called that in The Aussie thread and I knew of his talent. You could see when he desecrated Brock Jarvis that he was something special. The Aussie Boxers are taking over, there's no disputing that. Tim already has taken over and will be P4P No1 without a shadow of a doubt. Nikita will become a World Champion and so will Paro.
Definitely The question is not how are his opponents going to beat him? It's how many rounds is it going to take him to beat all the resistance out of them?
Haha.....hell yeah! Man, couldn't he spoil the party and throw a spanner in the works against all those glitzy names around him....lol! They'll do all they can to avoid him and I hate to be cynical (lie) but the networks won't get in their way of doing it!
Yes that would be great if he did but many will swerve him like the plague. Haney was all about the importance of being ''undisputed'' down at a weight class he was way way bigger than everyone even though he won all the belts the easier way, in one fell swoop against a very favourable stylistic match up for him who he was also much bigger than. However, he suddenly lost all interest in becoming undisputed at 140 in a division full of fighters closer to his size but still a lot smaller than him and Mr Matias has a lot to do with that.
