Depends on how. I mean, let's say, Bivol KOs him in 1-3 rounds. How would Beterbiev be ranked compared to him losing a UD to Bivol? And vice versa.
Here's the thing. We all know that Beterbiev has world class power and Bivol has world class boxing skills. What is overlooked is that Beterbiev is not a brawler. He's a good boxer who uses skill and footwork to get to his opponents. Bivol does not have a power game. I may change my mind later but, as of now, I have Beterbiev stopping Bivol late in the fight. That being said, I hope I'm wrong because, while I appreciate Beterbiev talents, I am a Bivol fan.
Bivol KO'ing Beterbiev would be absolutely insane. It won't happen, but that kind of win is automatic ATG status for Dmitry. Beterbiev is already an ATG and will just be adding some bulk to that record. The loser will still be rated highly
Feather fisted Bivol KOed no one in his last 9 fights. When he tastes the power of Beterbiev, he will be disoriented and lose his dancing style. Then Beterbiev will finish him off before round 7, sooner than everybody expected. He is so fragile, but was never exposed due to his superb skills. Beterbiev will expose him.
This is what I often say as well. Beterbievs skill is very underrated because his power is so high. People think he’s just a mindless brute, but both of the Smith fights are excellent examples where he proved he’s actually more about skill than power. He outboxed both of them and even got the draw on them when it came to jab wars. They couldn’t get away from him or hurt him. They were done for. Highly underrated. That said Bivols aggressiveness is underrated too. He rarely ever shows it but when does he’s a force to be reckoned with. We got to see some of it against Zurdo. He also briefly showed it against Canelo in round 7 right when Joey Diaz was giving his opinion of the fight. Canelo had him on the ropes and threw a vicious assault at Bivol who countered with aggression to where Canelo backed off. I’ve never seen Canelo back off from a counter punch exchange since Floyd. I think this will be an explosive fight, probably as big as Holyfield vs Tyson.
You are right. Bivol does have aggressiveness. He's certainly going to need it if he hopes to keep Beterbiev away. It's going to be a great fight.
Pretty much this ^ If Bivol gets flattened, not going to look good on Canelo, so the casual Wranger fans will need a story to explain the loss. If Bivol wins on the other hand, it'll be, Canelo lost to p4p1. There's always a new story to be woven into the fabric of truth.
Let's wait to see how it ends first. Could be a draw. Could be a SD with 1 round in it. Nothing would change as to how they were viewed/ranked before the fight as we'd likely see a rematch. If Bivol can somehow stop Beterbiev, he goes up a million miles.....same if Beterbiev wins most the rounds and wins on points.
Yep, if Bivol does beat him, Beterbiev will transform into a 39 year old past his expiration date fighter.
