Benn fails drug test

Reminds me of Kell Brook. A series of PPVs nobody watched, then sacrificed to GGG for half a million buys. His fight with Spence barely did half that, by which time his face couldn't take a good hit.

 

I presume an increase in muscle mass and strength increases punching power. I suspect Benn was using it for cutting weight so he could retain more energy and power. If Benn has to cut weight a more natural way then it explains why his power has vanished.

About 10 years ago in the UFC when USADA came in, half of the champions suddenly started missing weight.

 

It's explosive power. It's why sprinters get so much better when they're doping.

In MMA, back in the day the guys in Japan (Pride) were absolute beasts. Rampage and Wanderlei for example were wrecking balls. But then they looked normal when they got in the UFC as the Americans had a bit more testing. Then USADA came in later and the top slots all became wide open as the older guys fell off completely when they had to get clean off the juice.

Alistair Overeem is a good example of the above.

 

To be fair there's a bit of a difference in that due to the sexes.

 

I think there is zero chance the fight happens but Tank would knock him clean out guaranteed.

 

Davis blitzes him. If Davis can land the sort of punch that finished LSC, the way Benn gets caught upright I’m sure it would be the sort of KO that would have the medics in the ring and Benn taken out the ring without a post-fight interview.

 

There is no chance he fights Gervonta. They did this last time, called out the big fighters then dug up Chris Algieri for him. I expect more of the same. Don't hear him calling out Crawford or Spence. The guy is a fraud.

It's the same trick as before, where him / Eddie list a group of top fighters with one weak link in among them ie "I want Ennis, Crawford, Spence, Barrios, Haney...yada yada" and then as soon as that B-level guy is mentioned alongside all the champions / unbeaten prospects, you can bet your house they will be Benn's next fight.

Benn had been tagged at will in every single fight he’s had. His last two fights against nobodies went 12, god knows how many times he was hit clean. Algeiri was catching him coming in at will. Davis/Garcia/Haney/Josh T/Romero just need that 1 shot and it’s lights out.
