I've got Taylor by decision. Taylor doesn't have huge power, but he throws clean, crisp punches. As has already been said, Paul Williams is the more active fighter, but he doesn't have the same accuracy on his shots that JT has. Williams has a good beard, and I don't think Taylor would be able to put him away even though he was able to hurt Pavlik. Taylor UD by a coupla rounds.
Pavlik is stronger than Margo. Yeah I give him his props for willing to fight Pavlik, but Pavlik is a few levels ahead of Margo when it comes to power. So I dont know. And Pavliks power is underrated when it comes to comparing him to guys like Margo and PW. Ppl think he's just an average power MW when he rally has heavyweight power.
You got to understand that it is physically impossible for someone like pavlik to have anything close to heavyweight power when he is fighting at 160-168 pounds. A great deal of mediocre heavyweight fighters hit quite a bit harder than Pavlik. What Pavlik REALLY has going for him is the mental strength to walk through punches and keep throwing his shots full force without fear. Which I think is an underrated skill in an offensively minded fighter. **EDIT** having said that, I think pavlik does have the potential to move to lightheavy and cruiser and heavy, though he could never be more than a contender at heavyweight.
Taylor UD, Williams is too sloppy but it will be close. C'mon.... he lost to Quintana who is a solid fighter tho but losing to him on a UD decision means you aren't the legitimate champ of the division and he got lucky in the rematch.
When's the last time Taylor knocked a mutha****a out??? Have people lost their minds? 8 pounds isn't going to give you whiplash.
Taylor by KO ..Considering what Williams gets hit with now, if the fighters he recently fought were heavy punchers Paul could have tasted canvas by now. Imagine if Quinatana had pop ? Taylor if he is able to unload on Paul he has the better chance of scoring the knockout ..
I'm sorry but as long as Taylor is alive and fighting.....he beats the daylights out of Williams.....especially at super middleweight.
