Of course he has it... it was a close fight tonight... Lopez was able to do it in the last round from the first round... he is much better than they think, that's why they are always surprised when he trains and has an adequate game plan. On the day of the fight he wins... Teofimo has things to improve but all boxers always have things to improve... in a rematch he knocks out Ortiz and Haney beats him... this guy is no clown
He's fine when up against a come forward fighter but he needs to learn how to cut the ring off. Not saying he has to replace his dad but maybe bring someone else in?
Exactly! That's all I saw Ortiz did throughout the fight. He landed a single punch or a few punches then he retreated. How could he beat Lopez?
Lopez didn't return fire right after meaning Ortiz won the round on activity, and from what I saw accuracy as well.
There's several things about Teo that confuse me. -He only uses a philly shell or has his hands down. - He seems to get bored with or stops using his jab too ealry in fights. I get that he knew Ortiz couldn't really hurt him so that affected the way Teo fought but both those things have happened before.
Lopez landed the bigger punches either way, and he actually tried to make a fight out of it even though he also disappointed by showing his limited ability to cut off the ring. One thing is for sure, I'd that's how Ortiz fights at the highest level.. no thank you. I pass.
When he's allowed to sit and counter he's elite, but he has a glaring flaw when forced to press and cut off the ring. I don't think he'd do much better in a rematch unless he addresses this flaw. We've seen it happen too many times now against Martin, Kambosos Jr and now Ortiz, for it simply be a case of him having a bad night or being inconsistent, it's obvious he has a weakness that certain types of fighters can exploit. But at 26 he's is probably only now just entering his prime or perhaps not even prime yet, so he has time to work on things and improve. Yes he is no clown, but he either needs to make improvements or be very carefully matched up, because any backfoot, mover counter puncher will make him look bad.
Different house same floor plan It isn't the southpaw stance Lopez struggles with, it's the slick rangy backpeddling aspect
Yep I thought the same thing. Styles makes fights and this only goes to show how many on here fail to grasp how styles effect the outcome of a fight.
Alright man. You love to see the hit and run style but I don't. That's why we did not agree with the result of this fight. I'm not gonna blame the judges to give the nod for Lopez since it was a close fight and it was not a robbery. So, It's no use for us to make more arguements. Lopez is still the world champion and that's made me feel good. If Lopez had ran away all night to beat Ortiz then I would not have hesitated to attack him.
