But like for one night, like Timmy said; can the judges get it right??? For once!!! They may not solve a struggling boxers home country political status, they may not be able to cure hunger and despair around a fighters neck of the woods where he's from... But for Pete's sake, for all the times done dirty can't he at least get peace for one perfect night?!!?! I had the man Ortiz ahead by a couple of rounds. No wonder Timmy was crying and stuff, mark kregal not showing any empathy for the robbed individual.
Exactly. It's all about hit and don't get hit. This was a highlight robbery. Hard to love Boxing with results like that, and it's happen all the time.
The fight was not even close, I struggled to give ortiz more thatn 2 rounds. What he did was a disgrace.
Dreadful fight in many ways but a robbery none the less. Lopez can’t handle slick guys and Ortiz was being massively slept on. Another disappointing day for boxing.
Judges are now looking at the Shakur/Santos fight to penalize runners. If you're consistently being aggressive the whole fight, it will do you favors. If not, it will hurt you. Ortiz's stock has fallen. Not sure if any top boxer wants to fight him considering he lost any draw power now. People don't want to pay $ to see someone running.
Yes, but when your opponent is running most of the time, it might favor you. I think the judges preferred being the aggressor over running.
He definitely didn't do himself any favors by fighting this way. Hope he learned from this experience. People pay to be entertained.
These are professional judges that have scored hundreds or thousands of matches before (and know better than believing ineffective aggression meets any criteria), not random goobers on Reddit or Quora that DKSAB. Occam's razor says them scoring it for López is the product of corruption, not all three casting aside their judge training and deciding to award points for coming forward spamming missed shots.
The whole event was literally built around Lopez. Ortiz won, but even he should’ve known that you have to damn near beat A side to death just to get a close decision. Ortiz had plenty of moments to go on the offensive and he chose to just stare at Teo. Idk why he didn’t factor in getting robbed.
