At 1 point Lopez stood still in middle of the huge ring and Ortiz was about 12 feet away

    And?

Lopez is the champ. Why is he chasing him. He can't lose the belts if the other guy doesn't come fight him for it. This isn't like Floyd where he holds the belt and is moving. There Floyd is the champ and you have to chase him down. Here Lopez is champ. He doesn't have to do anything but wait for Ortiz . Ortiz doesn't engage he doesn't get the belt.

I know it doesn't matter who is champ when it comes to scoring. I'm refering to all the people crying about the running. Why is Lopez chassing him.

If they both just stands there and look at each other then Ortiz can not win the belt. It is a draw. Ortiz at this point has to engage Lopez. Lopez is the champ. The old saying in that you have to take it from the champ is exactly this. The champ has to just stand there and if you do nothing he retains his title. Lopez did not have to go chasing the title. It is his to lose. Make Ortiz come to him to take it.

Oh, I didn´t know we scored fights differently based on who is holding a championship belt.
Do you mind sharing with us the official scoring criteria? I would love to read how the champion gets a handicap and how the challenger has to take the belt.
Do the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO have this magical rule written anywhere?
What about the commissions? NYSAC, BBBofC, JBC or the ****ing Philippines Games & Amusement Board... do they have this rules written somewhere?

Where the helll did I say we scored it differently?

I am talking about Lopez not needing to chase after Ortiz.

Who cares what Ortiz does in the future. This is the complaint that he was running. Again please explain to me why Lopez had to chase him? Because if Lopez just stood in the middle of ring Ortiz would light him up?

So where in that statement is the special scoring? If Lopez just stands there and Ortiz does nothing it is a draw , Lopez retains is belt. There is no Special scoring there. That was all Lopez had to do. Make Ortiz come to him. He didn't have t chase Ortiz to try and win a belt.

Yes all fighters want to excite the crowd so fans would want to see them again. What Lopez did last night put people to sleep. If Chasing didn't work stop. What is plan B.

But Bad theyre VEGAS judges!!! Don't you always get one clown put a ludicrous scorecard up . Flks complain about that one & ignore the other two which were almost as bad. Lopez was going to get the win regardless.
Really Ortiz literally boxed his ears off. Lopez just chased him round the ring throwing wildly but landing nothing effective
You know Lopez fought that fight like Floyd would have done if Floyd could punch. The same people that claim Floyd is TBE & never been beaten are the same one dissing Lopez for boxing. He was making Lopez look like a clumbsy oaf. If Ortiz didn't deserve to win that fight then Floyd would have a heck of a lot of one sided losses himself. Until they clean up that cess pit called Vegas boxing will just continue to sink lower & lower

Just watched the fight, wish I hadn't....it's an hour of my life I'll never get back.

Can you really blame Ortiz for boxing to orders? Yes he was on his scooter the whole fight, yes he made the fight practically unwatchable but boxing is about not getting hit and nicking rounds in championship fights......Ortiz banked the first 3 straight, the 4th practically nothing happened (10-10), gave away the next 3 and then came back and won 3 of the last 5. I had Ortiz winning by 1 round but I don't think I'll ever watch another one of his fights again.

You clearly made the case that Ortiz had to be the aggressor.

If I am wrong, I do apologize. I have had 1,5 bottles of wine.

Ortiz landed punches, in fact according to punchstats he out-landed Lopez... by two punches, which were jabs since Lopez landed more power punches.

It was a close fight, and I think it could have been a draw, or 7-5 either way, but I can see why this amateur style of boxing doesn't get rewarded by pro judges.
