How come Wood’s fight at Forest’s ground has been binned? Thought it would earn a tidy amount through ticket sales and I doubt Wood is asking for the world.

But going back to Trafford's point, it needs a fee from DAZN to make the numbers add up. Wood will want paid properly and it might be Warrington's last fight so the same for him, the gate money alone won't cover that. Nobody will particularly care about the fight outside the UK so it's not like DAZN benefits across markets. I'm sure it's doable but something has to give somewhere.

 

Only date city ground would consider was now date of fury vs Usyk

Dazn, Matchroom and fighters were all on board. Was a club commercial decision. Only date under consideration was May 18th. Now Usyk vd fury it’s a non starter.

Fair enough. Presumably another venue and date didn’t excite Wood and maybe Matchroom. A big event is one thing but a re-run of the same fight isn’t that attractive.

 

The guarantee wood is on for that fight it essentially needs to be a stadium fight. He could go to elland road for same money but unlikely to want to do that. Or go to the arena but the purses reduce due to size. Or he sees if he can get a Saudi fight for same money and do city ground next year. Other thing is May 18th as a held tv date and now need to pull something together. He’s got options just not the one he really wanted
