If Tyson pursues a fight from the outside, I think he wins. If he tries to go for Foreman's throat from the opening bell like he usually did, I think George's chin holds up and he eventually knocks Tyson out.
Not sure. Tyson may be intimidated by Foreman after seeing what happened to Frazier. I think Tyson could win if he used his jab, landed fast combos and got out of there before slow George could counter. Tyson UD
I think I’d pick Tyson. I was watching Foreman’s fight with Holyfield last night, & Foreman was really in trouble a few times. Quick, committed combination punching was doing the trick - Tyson could do that with so much more impact & I think he’d knock Foreman out, or at least stop him. This is predicated on the idea that Tyson’s corner put & keep him in the right frame of mind - no sure thing. If he is intimidated by Foreman he might still win a decision, but I can’t see Foreman really being active enough to put Tyson away or outwork him.
Tyson easily for me. To beat him you needed to put a sustained beating on him and George simply didn't have the cardio and speed to do that at 45.
Mike Beats him, it is a possibility that he could knock him out. And the reason why I think he could knock him out is that Lyle nearly killed him in their fight and he was much younger then. George was the luckiest mother****er on the planet that Lyle gassed out. George is not doing to Mike what he did to Frazier in his 2nd career for 2 reasons. 1 Mike fought Ruddock and fought the worst fight of his career. He got hit with A LOT of big shots. But the problem is that Mike needs to be hit a lot,not one punch at a time. When George fought Evander he had some active 1 or 2 rounds in the beginning, then he blew his load in I think it was the 7th(Almost knocked evander out) and proceeded to be a heavy bag for the rest of the fight. The reality is, and no one will probably accept this ,but George in his 2nd career was not really any better than he was in his first career. He was just more patient. He was an overglorified 2 round fighter that after 2 rounds just relied on his power, hoping he'd get lucky and land something. Mike would win by fighting like he did Tucker in the 80s. Just spam the living **** out of the jab after the first few rounds and if the knockout comes it comes
Tyson would absolutely pummel that slow version of Foreman. It would literally be target practice. And, unlike Moorer, Tyson could take the occasional blow Foreman might be lucky enough to land.
I agree. I'll take some heat for this but if you look at George's comeback career record on its own, disregard how impressive it is for his age, he's about a Bonecrusher Smith level of fighter at that point.
I will midigate my comments and say this. Prime George Foreman, has my all time favourite Jab. I don't know why,but he always seems to hit his jab, and I don't understand it,because watching young George fight it was ugly as hell as he sometimes literally looked like Kermit the frog flailing his arms around. But for some reason, he had this jab that would hit every single damn time and I'm like "How can this sloppy looking kermit the frog like fighter, have one of the most beautiful jabs in the history of heavyweights" it made no sense
Mike too fast, big George would be pummeled and hurt early. A brave Foreman gets pulled out before the sixth imo.
Prime Tyson is a horrible matchup for old George. Post-prison and invincible aura removed Tyson, old George has a chance. I pick young George over any version of Tyson.
You cannot beat this forum for pure comedy value...... Prime Tyson vs Grandpa Foreman ? LOL. Absolute best case is a white wash a la Bone hugger/Tucker fight with Foreman swinging air and connecting a couple of times like the two did. Most likely case is that Foreman takes a life time beating and gets rescued by the Ref..................this is a fighter who went life and death with glass cannons Stewart/Saverese/Schulz.........got outboxed by Tommy Chin.......could nor stop club fighter Grimsley............ He had to come from wayyyyyy behind against glass chinned Moorer...............who was down right from the get go v average punching Holyfield 1...................Moorer would not make it out of the first vs Tyson, guaranteed. Now , early 70's Foreman is a genuine 50/50 fight.
