The poll here was done by better boxing experts than me, and IMHO better boxing experts than you.
The average opinion of 24 (twenty four) such experts is that Lewis HW ATG 4. That is quite different from your opinion that Lewis HW ATG 10-12.
Of course, everyone has the right to their opinion, as well as to defend their position; argued.

Yes,this performance nailed Lennox' all time Top 5 heavyweight status in my eyes. He knew he'd messed up badly in the first fight and was a man on a mission.

 

Top 5 by beating Hasim Rahman? After losing to Hasim Rahman!?

 

I like that about him too, matter of fact.

 

Getting KO’d by McCall & Rahman doesn’t help, either. Of course, these were his only losses. That does help.

 

In isolation, no, of course not.

Top 5 by beating Holyfield x 2 (on fair scorecards), Vitali, Ruddock, Golata, Tucker, Mercer, Tua, Bruno, past prime Tyson, Morrison, Briggs, Mason, Akinwande, Botha, McCall, Grant, Biggs, as well as Rahman.

It's true he didn't face the very best version of all those opponents, but which fighter faced the peak version of his opponent in each of his 19 best wins? Far fewer than beat every boxer they ever faced, I suspect.

 

He did well in rematches against guys who were heavily outmatched against him from the start. Definitely.

But he didn’t want any part of rematches against Mercer or Vitali. Even though the vast majority of the boxing public wanted to see them.

 

It’s a good résumé for mine & he was a great fighter - but top 5 all-time I just don’t see him as on that level.

That’s interesting I’ve not encountered a majority crowd rating Lewis that highly in other forums before.

He is a fighter that does seem to inspire some wild over or under appreciation in my experience as a whole.
