Tex Cobb (slugger) vs Tony Galento (swarmer) Power: Tony Chin: Tex Speed: Tony Technique: Lol Stamina: Tex Accuracy: Tony Footwork: Tony Ring IQ: Lol Body shots: Tex Defense: Tex Combinations: Tony Versatility: Tex Heart: Tex 6-2-5 advantage Tex Tex is the bigger man, but he won't have an easy time tanking with Mr. 2 Ton. The issue here is that Tony blends his decent learning skills with an awkward crouching style somewhat reminiscent of Marciano and blends it with ugly street fighting and blatant fouls. Tex would need to sometimes punch down at the short but very sturdy and powerful Tony. On the flip side, Tex could take a punch as well as just about anyone, has decent raw power to hurt Tony back, and can use rudimentary jabs and combinations to try and keep Tony off of him. Conclusion: This would be an incredibly ugly fight. Tony would end up burying his face into Tex chest and the two would exchange furious but sloppy arm punches for several rounds. Tony would land the bigger more telling shots while Tex is the busier guy. Neither of them would do much blocking and the rounds would be frustrating to score since Tony would be throwing in headbutts, elbows, and low blows getting points deducted. Tex might return the favor with some knees to the belly or a body slam just for the hell of it. Tony would get floored at some point and covered in blood while Tex would have a black eye from those nasty hooks and completely winded. By the 15th they're just throwing sloppy arm punches with no weight behind them. The ref breaks them up and a cup of sprite is hurled at Tex causing his curly hair to drop. Popcorn pelts Tony who is spurred on and stomps on Tex to deliver a big left hook right hand combination. Tex buckles and responds with a big 1-2 busting Tony's nose. When the bell rings, Tex is given a lopsided decision due to Tony's poor sportsmanship but really, nobody wins. Both men needed over a dozen stitches, the ref is soaked in beer and blood, and the crowd boos.
Beautiful post. After the fight I reckon that Tex and Tony would share a couple cases of beer and, possibly, Tex would introduce Two Ton to cocaine. Three weeks later, One Ton Tony Galento would make his light heavyweight debut.
I like the LOL ratings. If I may add, post fight, Galento blames his corner for not giving him better advice - instead, they let Tony fight HIS fight. The actual Max Baer vs Galento match might be THE poster fight for a match totally devoid of skill, technique and fair boxing. That’s a nasty watch, that one.
Tony Galento on cocaine is a scary thought. Tony "Coke" Galento vs angry drunk Holyfield on bath-salts, how does that go...? 20 rounds, lenient ref.
