Not when it's controlled by the "right" guy. Do you think it's coincidence that Warren is crying all over the place last couple of days, and now their man, as Suleiman is in their pocket, and he is literally doing what team Fury told him to do, is pushing this.

Such a coincidence that all of this comes, after Fury pulls out of the fight for second time.

IMO VAR in boxing could be a great thing (in contrast to football where I think it has ruined the sport); this is of course based on the (naïve) proviso that VAR officials won't be subject to the corruption the standard judges are seemingly often afflicted by.

This is a good thing. Technology only makes sports more clean. Everyone with a working braincell and no pro-Fury agenda knows how Dubois kept throwing low blows against Usyk so had we had VAR already at that fight, there would have been no controversy about that low blow whatsoever. When even Fury's trainer states it was a low blow, there's not much to discuss. At the exact moment as it was immediately ruled as a low blow, Dubois himself just looked like a kid who was caught stealing candy from a confectionery. Imagine that: for the first time ever in his professional career, you put the guy with three HW belts on the canvas! You did something that punchers like Gassiev or Joshua couldn't do! You got him, he is in pain, it's a KO, you win! You are the unified world HW champion of the world! You did it! Your life goal is achieved, your name will go down in history, there will be money, fame, women, your whole world changes now, you are the World HW Champion! It's sports history written by you, your name will be talked about by boxing fans forever! Boom, baby! Boom!

    Except...

Except the ref says straight away it was a low blow and it doesn't count. How do you react? You immediately protest. You argue. You shout. You wildly gesture with your hands, you are upset... This is a robbery, your whole life achievement is being robbed, of course you are emotional. Of course you are angry and upset and intense. At the very least, as an absolute bare minimum, you raise an eyebrow as you are surprised.

And yet, Dubois did zero of these things. Absolutely zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. It's not rocket science to figure out why. He knew that what he had been doing the whole fight was illegal. Only the Fury apologists can't put two and two together still how come that if there's a "legit" KD and a "legit" victory, the guy doesn't even act surprised when it is "taken away" from him by the ref ruling out a low blow.

So let's have that VAR thing, excellent. One more thing that Fury apologists can't hide behind when Usyk beats him pillar to post.

A video reference would be a good idea in boxing, but will be interesting to see how they actually incorporate this into the scoring system. Also, has this been trialled already? Seems strange to throw this straight in at the deep end. It's like VAR being used for the first time in the World Cup Final.

Personally I think it's more likely something that will be looked at between rounds for example 50 seconds into round 4 there's potentially an illegal punch the var guys can say to the ref through his ear piece keep an eye on fighter A or have a quick word next chance you get. Or they could be giving feedback to the ref during the round. It's the only way I see it working.

Fury being a dirty fighter compared to his peers is a laughable accusation, whether you like him or not.
The wrestling tactics he has used are mild compared to Wlad, and he actually only used them in very dangerous situations for himself, not as a regular way of fighting over his career.
The mauling and shoving tactics are mild too compared to heroes on here like Mike Tyson, who boasted about wrenching people's elbows to damage them.
The only time he's hit low was retaliation for being headbutted by Abel.
He was also openly headbutted by Wlad, the squeaky clean hero of Ukrainian mansions.
Then Wallin raked and butted the cut round after round.

Fury has been on the end of dirty fighting more than he's initiated it. There's just a lot of propaganda going around about his style these days, largely influenced by the Wilder fights and all the garbage with the gloves and 'mauling'. Fury beat Wilder by punching him in the head, not by elbows or headbutts or low blows.

Big robbery is coming for Usyk. They want to push him out of the equation and set up Fury vs AJ.

It’s laughable to argue that he is not. When Cunningham gave him hell, he needed an illegal move to get rid off him. Show me another guy from this era who was allowed to win by blocking his opponents view and pushing his head back with his left forearm while punched him with a right hook.

Man I just want Usyk to end all the bull**** and drop Fury with the hardest left he’s ever thrown. Just right on the temple at the right time and Fury go out like a light. Bam. Done.

It's certainly not in most scripts and would be highly amusing!

We all know Usyk likes to pretend that bodyshots are low blows, so It's a good thing that someone will control that

Not only in his last fight, see Usyks history of bodyshots
