Gotta hand it to Boots, that's a solid fight for a first title defense and it's not quite your ordinary Mandatory fight. Make it happen.

This is Ring Magazine's 3rd and 6th ranked welterweights. Once you get past Spence, Crawford and Ennis the talent at 147 drops off quite a bit. I have no problems with this bout.

I mean...does Ennis have many wins that are clearly head and shoulders above Crowley's best? I'd say not really. Loads more hype and expectations but...on paper? Nah, this isn't a somebody fighting a nobody based on actual concrete accomplishment.

Good point. For all the hype Ennis gets he has an impressive ability to not fight opponents with more experience than himself.

Nothing wrong with this fight. Super Boots can't force Terry out of the coop and Crowley is a undefeated top contender who is a decent fighter and whose great-great grandfather was an infamous necromancer, poet and painter

I just want Boots active, he gets over-critiqued re: guys sidestepping him..............then he gets no fights, now Crawford, I don't blame him. Crawford is in the driver's seat and is looking for legacy at this point, that ain't Boots, Crawford can and should do what he wants. But Keith, Stanionis, even Vergil's people, now Barrios..............have all in one way or another evaded. You can't blame Boots for not fighting top guys when most of his peers/top guys are saying "nah". For example his potential match setup against a peer was upended so he beat up the person that ruined that potential matchup. He's doing pretty much all he can that I can see.

I think for Boots to continue to be a killer, he's one of those guys that has to be extremely active. This fight is fine.
