What do you mean by 'stink'? And which specific fights are you claiming fall in that category?

It was a -----DIVE, plain and simple, this was planned before the fight not during.

Sonny said he could have got up but he was afraid Muhammad would wallop him because when you get up you're basically defenseless as you're using one hand for balance and Ali was standing over him. He also saved himself an ass whuppin. Ali would have lumped him up. Kind of foreshadowed the "No Mas" fight.

I don't think it was, and your assertion isn't going to change my mind.

I go by what I see on the film, and what I see from Ali on that film impresses me.

Sonny said he could have got up but he chose not to because he was afraid Muhammad would wallop him. In any case he saved himself an ass whuppin. All he would got if the fight went on is lumped up. Muhammad was all wrong for him.

There are people who still will not accept 60 years later that Muhammad Ali was Sonny Liston’s superior in the ring, who insist that something nefarious had to be going on for Ali to beat him. I got to where I wanted to throw something at the TV every time I saw Paul Gallender’s face.

There is really no way for me to know at this point about Ali-Liston 2 or some other fights in history, such as Marciano-Walcott 2, as one example, and Carnera-Sharkey 2, as another example. In most cases I am not even sure it matters. Ali stopped Liston in the 1st round in Lewiston, Maine. IF the fix was in, does any boxing person believe that Liston would have won, if there was no fix? I sure do not. IF there was a fix, it was not about the outcome, because I think Muhammad Ali had that. It had to be about the first round, but where is the proof that large sums of money were bet on Ali in one? The way Ali acted after Liston went down looked real to me! If he expected Liston to go down in the 1st, why act that way?

Great boxers often make very good sluggers look bad, and even silly, in there, especially if they are very fast, which Muhammad Ali was. He had Liston's number. I really do not think Sonny Liston could have beaten Muhammad Ali in ten tries. That is my opinion.

Aii was bigger, stronger, younger, and faster than Sonny. The only advantage Sonny had was power.

Jimmy Lennon who was at ringside said the punch Ali landed on Liston wouldn't have busted a grape.
But everyone has an opinions, some simply more valid than others.

P.S. there were rumors running rampant before the fight the fix was in, Ali had even heard it so,,,,,,,,,,,

Watch the video, again you can see Liston’s neck muscles shiver from the force of the punch.

Sonny Liston was all wrong for Ali. He was too old , too slow, and too enervated.

Well it varies from fight to fight, to answer your first question. Some you must reasonably give the benefit of the doubt to Ali, while others are clear & decisive examples of shenanigans.

In regard to the fights they range across most of Ali’s career, from 1963 all the way to 1978. The fights I’m thinking of would be Cooper I, Liston I & II, Frazier II, Foreman, Frazier III, Norton III, & Spinks I & II. Some would add Young & Lyle as suspect but I am comfortable with those results, personally.

Could you please elaborate on why you think those decisions are suspect? Thank you in advance.

He was saved by the bell and the ropes. All the alleged "shenanigans" with the gloves bought him six seconds. I can provide a citation if you want . The kicker is it was the BBC that investigated it.
