A lot of people were adamant that Canelo would run scared from Jacobs.
    Same with Lara and Trout.

I have no doubt that Canelo will fight Benavidez, eventually. Not that I agree with the current ducking.

He is a master at it but he also has stepped up against Mayweather, Bivol, and GGG in the first two fights. Floyd himself did the same, as have many champions. Canelo’s current run is still a joke and it’s disgraceful he hasn’t been stripped of any titles.

I picked yes and no because that's the reality of it. But in that train of thought what star fighter hasn't picked and just fought everyone in front of them, especially in the modern era?

He faced GGG after the latter showed signs of slowing down. He ducked him for 2/3 years prior to that. And he still had to be gifted a draw.

I picked yes and no also, I don't have any problem with the quality of opposition that Canelo has fought throughout his career, in fact overall his competition has been Sterling.

It's the blatant in your face haha who cares scorecards - that I have the big problem with. It's very insulting for a long time fan of the sport.

I don't blame Canelo for the scorecard controversy as its not his fault. I blame his opponents for it because they allow it to happen and never challenge the judges on it. Loma is one of the few boxers I've seen challenge a loss even though he failed. Why don't more do this idk, but the more they keep letting the judges slide because "well thats just the way it is", thats the more the judges will keep doing it.

What surprised me was Norton not doing something after what was, technically speaking, his victory over Ali in the 3rd fight that he was cheated out of. The same can be said about Lewis not challenging the judges decision to score his first fight with Holyfield a draw even though Lewis beat the crud out of him. The same can be said about Ngannou who clearly beat Fury in their fight, yet was given a loss presumably to save the face of boxing from losing to a complete newbie.

On thread though, every boxer who reaches top clout will become picky because they have a lot more riding on the line if they lose.

Pretty much this. The delaying if Benavidez fight is annoying but Canelo had a career full of NOT ducking opponents. Hard to label him a ducker.

And its the usual PBC cheerleaders that are squawking about ducking...because Wilder lost, Spence lost, Jermell lost, Fulton lost and Thurman is about to lose. So theyre reallocating their hype on one of the very few glimmering hopes on that entire promotional banner, Benavidez. If Benavidez loses the PBC show is over.

So the hype will only amplify for David whether its deserved or not. Need more evidence? Two guys in boxing are being labeled a ducker currently and its two guys who have literally never ducked in their career - Canelo and Crawford. And thats only happening bc PBC has no other agenda to push. Nobody even mentions Tank cause its always versus TBA and he's ducked Loma, Haney, Teo, and Shakur - and will continue to do so.

So keep shouting about Canelo and Crawford ducking...maybe someone will hear it believe it...even if its ridiculous and baseless.

The cards were a slap in the face:

Trout fight had 1 literal joke card
Lara fight had 1 literal joke card
Floyd fight had 1 literal joke card
GGG1 card had 1 literal joke card
Entire Canelo Bivol scores were ridiculously close

As you stated though Canelo takes on anyone pretty much throughout his career...Lara, Floyd, GGG, Jacobs, Kovalev, Callum Smith, Bivol...these were all fights he couldve swerved and wouldve been understandable...and he looked good-great in almost all of those fights, but the frequency of outrageous scorecards has really left a sour taste

I do not think time will be kind to Canelo in terms of his "resume". The scorecards are rife with corruption, sadly, and Canelo always had a tough time to separating himself whether it was old Cotto or old Mosley or 154lb Jermell at 168 or Ryder or GGG3 or Lara or Trout...he shouldve gotten stoppage wins in a lot of those fights and scored only 2 KD combined.

He is not as bad as Floyd but he is still a cheat and not everything is above board when he fights.

    Ducked Andrade.
Likely ducked the Charlos when they fought in the same division.
    Cherry picked Kovalev
Cherry picked Bivol to avoid Benavidez
Cherry picked 40 year old GGG
    Cherry picked 154 pound Charlo
    Upcoming Cherry pick.

I don’t think Bicol is a cheery pick. Had he fought Benvanidez, people could have said he ducked Bivol.

however, delaying fighting GGG until 2017 is outright criminal.

I know everyone is high on Bivol now, but he looked pretty average in his 2 fights before Canelo chose him vs Salamov and Richards, going to UD both times, and Richards won 3-4 rounds off him. Plus he was not a draw with no fan base. If Canelo thought Bivol was so tough, it would be stupid to make a fight with no demand and no box office appeal. I think he is smarter than that. He chose him because he thought he was easier to beat.
