Bruh, i never said that i dont respect the guys like Canelo or Joshua, because either have solid resume (Gervonta Davis is a Joke). What i tried to say is that when you reach the status of face of boxing, often fighters, at least since Floyd, tend to avoid to give the fans what they want because they can earn a lot without real competition. This is not carrying the sport but it is the exact opposite, it put the sport in stand by. I have no problem with some weak defence of the title as Yldrim or Charlo (who jumped two weight classes). The problem that i have begin when the fighter avoid what the people wanna see. But i can see also that every time this happened, peeople have a lot of complain about the outcame. In this case, there is no better competition for Canelo as Benavidez is now. Simple as that.
Gervonta davis is doing nothing for the sport. Get some casual fans do not bring nothing to the table. Ufc is becoming more and more bigger every year, and is going to be at the same level of boxing in the near future. Why? Because losing is not as important as fight the best option in the game. Risk pay the bills

Again hard disagree. They avoid giving a small segment of hardcore fans what "we" want. But overall the rest of fans and some of us are still going to buy their fights that's why they are in that position. If it was really as bad as hardcore fans make it out to be these guys wouldn't be able to sell fights at the levels they do and would lose that status overnight. That's not what happens though. I understand where you're coming from but the hardcore crowd, because we know the ins and outs of the sport are in a rush for the end result fights that casual fans have no clue about. Tank Davis is a flag bearer of the sport you just can't see it. Casual fans like the fact that he pretty much knocks out whatever he touches and that's more entertaining than who he's fighting, otherwise again he wouldn't have some of the biggest events revenue wise in the sport. Ufc guys can't touch these fights, it's why they all want to fight boxers lol.

The Bivol rematch is a much harder fight for Canelo.

Also, boxing has much more interesting fights with better fighters at the lower weights.

Adrian Curiel just got Upsetted by Sivenathi Nontshinga this week in a great fight. Better fight than Canelo's, or Benavidez' last fights.

Canelo has put in a lot of work, more work than Benavidez, Charlo, Munguia, and most fighters between 154, and 175.

Considering that the consensus says that Canelo is past his best, it's understandable why he's putting the second most dangerous opponent behind some easy money.

Hey, Benavidez is in his mid 20s, Canelo is approaching his mid 30s, factoring their resumes, I think it's fair to give Canelo a pass for collecting chips before he fights one fo the toughest opponents for him today.

He is never fighting him. And when that happens you will continue to make excuses. You must think Canelo is as dumb as rocks if you think he is aging himself out against such a dangerous fighter to eventually fight him and get his ass kicked. If he wanted to fight him he would have done it 2 years ago when he was first offered the fight.

Oh yeah, two years ago when Canelo was unifying and becoming the undisputed SMW champion in just 11 months. Something Benavidez could have been a part of but he was too busy being fat and doing coke..

    Oh ok.. definitely bro.

You mean after Canelo beat Fielding he went back to 160 instead of unifying with Benavidez.

Four years ago.. after demolishing Fielding, he went to 160 to fight the man who also arguably beat Golovkin to unify the MW division.

He next moved up to 175 skipping 168 to dethrone Kovalev.

He then moved down to 168 to fight Callum Smith who was one of three champions at 168.

That same year when Canelo was fighting for the WBC SMW title against Smith, the same.WBC SMW titles Benavidez lost four months prior, Benavidez was being a fatass and had to hire the infamous Memo Heredia to help him lose weight.

The notorious contract that Canelo signed with dazn, which would have paid Canelo 365 milions, was canceled immediatly due to the lack of subscribtion that Canelo brought when he was fighting the guy of the caliber of Fielding ecc...

    Wrong!

It was canceled because Canelo filed a law suit in September 2020 to get out of the contract he had with DAZN and GBP to become a free agent under the premise that they breached their contract by keeping him away from the ring, which stemmed from the fall out when GBP and DAZN didn't make the fight Canelo wanted against Derevyanchenko.

We already knew from the jump dazn was gonna lose their ass handing out money to everyone and running out of matchups quick. The model seemed to good too be true and it was lol. Canelo wasn't their entire lineup and he's just making the same money elsewhere instead. Seriously doubt he missing any meals regardless of if he decides to fight only cab drivers from here on out or not. These guys have fans that will support them.

That wasn't the reason it was canceled. A simple Google search will show you Canelo was unhappy being tied down to GBP and DAZN as he felt they didn't have his best interest.

You don’t have to type a thesis just to say he avoided Benavidez after he beat Fielding at 168.

Yes, of course he avoided Benavidez to unify MW and then move up to fight at 175 to fight Kovalev, while Benavidez is testing for cocaine and then being undisciplined to make weight

Ok buddy, nice fantasy world you live in lol
