Josh looked drunk at the presser to me. Eyes all glassy.

Yeah I think we spoke about this on a thread a while ago, I have an ex who now lives in Prestonpans and it's well known he is on the lash regularly, if the face doesn't give it away then the stubble will. I think this is a cash out fight and Catterall beats him however he wants.

Yeah, I suspected as much. I remember seeing one interview where he looked ill, like he'd aged 20 years, and I was like something is really not right here

Could well be. It looks decidedly like he'd been hitting the bottle before the press conference. Who the hell does that?

I would rather have seen it at 147. Taylor has looked awful at the weight for a few fights now. That portrait of a fighter docu showed how much he was killing himself to make weight and his last few fights it has shown. He often glances up at the clock watching the round time countdown coz he's struggling. I even noticed him do that vs Ramirez. An on form Taylor should have handled Teo and Catt easily but looks drained as **** to me. I'll still watch it though lol

Taking a leaf out of Sergiy Kovalev's book. :sidra_1:

Taylor and Spence have unfortunately gone out in similar circumstances. Both have seen their primes short due to being alcoholics. Obviously, Taylor was never the level of Spence, but there's definitely comparisons to be made.

I cannot believe Taylor is a slight favourite for this fight, its as if the bookies don't like money.

Unfortunately it's been something that has dogged Taylor's career and it looks like the heady heights of undisputed then losing belts and defeat to Lopez has made it worse

Definitely been a recurring theme - and although not an excuse, I know that growing up in Scotland the pressure to drink is immense - just see the Chewin' the Fat 'Take a Drink' sketch to get an idea.

God only knows how many talented Scottish athelete's have been lost to bevvy over the years.

I really hope Josh can prove the doubters wrong, but the first presser really didn't look great from his side. El Gato's style is all wrong for Taylor normally, so if he has declined further then i'd have to make Catterall clear favourite - especially as Taylor is STILL staying at 140

Will be looking closely at the next few pressers to see how Josh comes across, signs don't look good

This fight has no buzz around it .. Taylor is an alcoholic and looks shot .. and caterall is boring.. 2 years too late too.. I believe it will come out over time that Taylor has been going through some serious drink problems.. Kovalev, Pavlik... Shame, cos he had the potential to go down as a special fighter.. was brilliant a few years ago.. sad seeing him lose to Lopez & Caterall

Probably it is because Taylor is actually slightly favourite in this fight.

I'm not so sure that caterall can win to Taylor twice, tbh. Part of the first fight outcome was that Taylor was overconfident and looked like he didnt prepare correctly. He would be utterly stupid if he makes the same mistake twice.

Taylor is overrated imho, but so overrated as to lose to caterall? twice? hmmmm, I'm not sure, I dont think so.

I dont know about his personal life, if he has been drinking and not training and all that crap... well, he will lose for sure. But if he has trained and prepared the fight properly I wouldnt put my money on caterall.

There’s no way in hell Lopez beats a healthy hydrated Taylor who is a better fighter. Taylor got unfortunate being so drained for his fight against Lopez, now everyone underrates him.

if this is at 140 not sure if we will see a healthy Taylor, but would go to show he is way more ballsy than other fighters who would move up to 147 and drag their opponent with them.

Yeah Taylor from years back would have had no problem with Catterall and would have knocked out a very limited fighter in Lopez. Instead he got embarassed by both

Betting odds don't really reflect the truth regarding how competitive a fight is. Taylor is the bigger name and will have his fans betting on him to win again and why wouldn't his fans not think he'd win again, given what happened in the first fight. Taylor wins 3 rounds at best and gets the decision. His fans are probably thinking easy money again as their man just has to win 3 rounds and can even get dropped again and may very likely get the decision again.

It's a shame, if Catterall does win this time, he'll get zero credit again. Taylor was weak at the weight the first time apparently and this time he's even more drained and a full blown alcoholic. There's almost no upside to Catterall winning because the excuses are already in for a loss if it comes.

You know Scotland had an independence referendum and voted against it. I’m
Scottish and most people I know do not support independence
