Of course, because they planned first another fight with GGG and then other option. But they understand immediatly that that kind of money would never be made with the kind of fight like Dere. But Canelo didnt want to go another time with GGG, which was the most valuable and remunerative fight for every broascaster. This was the mainly asset of the contract.

Once again, i never said that Canelo will lose money for himself fighting cabs driver o B class fighter. This is not my argument.
Also, Benavidez is not known just by the hardocre fans, but he has a solid reputation in a large portion of boxing fans.
If we follow your thoughts, Crawford has zero fan base outside the hardcore fans, much less than Benavidez, so you justify, for example, the narrative from PBC that waited way too long to put him against Spence because the fight needed to "marinate". Unfortunatly this fight made sense in 2018-2020.

The fantasy world, that Canelo needed to go back to 160 after Fielding. Benavidez was right there. Canelo didn’t want to unify.

He's scared stiff of Benavidez, Bivol, Beterbiev or any other legitimate contenders What little cojones he had are shrinking fast

If he's known by more than hardocre fans explain 60k ppv buys in the biggest fight of his career and I say this as one of his fans lol. I'm a fan of Crawford as well but reality is before he beat Spence he wasn't drawing stick figures either and it was the major hangup in getting the Spence fight done and I've always liked Crawford far more than Spence. I think we need to step back and see the big picture that the ones of us fan enough to post and debate on message boards make up the minority of boxing Fandom. This thing has always worked on drawing casual fans to spectacle.

I'm not even stating the specifics of that. I'm referring to the DAZN business model as a whole. We'll show you guys every fight for this flat fee and we're paying all the fighters these great contracts and it all will work out. Wait now we need to charge for special fights because they are worth more lol. Wait Wait now people are subscribing to see ome fight amd canceling after. It was a too good to be true business model.

I understand what you are saying. But as i said before, this is the only sport ruled by the law of the "marinate the fight". Why? Because there isnt a unified organization that could make the best fight possible. How many time we see the number 1 fight the number 2 of the division for the lineal championship? If we are lucky, Once a decade for each of weight classes. I brought up to your attention the example of the ufc. What you are saying tend to relate boxing more to the WWE than a real sport competition. Maybe we have to stop to worry about bring in the casuals, and stop buying no sense pay-per-view. I have the sense that your perspective could easily be folded in this one: Canelo and other stars need to thanks the vaste part of the hardcore fans that must stop to play for the bull**** fight yet. The card of the ufc are often full of competitive fight, and at least ore a year the best of the division fight the number two. Why it has to be different for boxing? Why boxing has to be a circle to be succesfull?
Also, do you wanna check with me the shitty demeanor of the different federation of boxing? Should i talk about Mauricio Suleiman?
For now, boxers earn more than ufc fighters, but it is only a matter of time, if this is the melody, in which Ufc will generate much more than Boxing. May be not the next decade, but probably the other one.
Another example: did Ryan Garcia earn a shot to the title? Absolutly no, but he has 10 milions of follower, so he can do whatever he ****ing wants. In ufc, exept for McGregor, who however has done a lot for the sport, something like that would be unthinkable.

I hope Canelo knocks out Benavidez in September and ends his hype forever.

But wait, then same people will start claiming that Canelo is avoiding Morrell. After that Bivol. Then Janibek.
