At least Golovkin stayed active, fought ranked opponents and was clearly chasing after the top of the division. And he was unifying the belts. Plus that nice KO streak.
Tank keeps winning the regular WBA belts.

Maybe, I wouldn't be upset to see it.

Maybe he's actually pretty decent but they're milking his paydays for minimum risk knowing that if he loses the gravytrain will turn to bisto granules?

Or maybe he's slick against the B-tier but can't handle the smoke with anyone serious?

Either way... We might never know... And it's looking likely we won't, at this point.

29yo and no significant wins. But hey, at least he's getting paid well to appease his fanboys.

    Following the Wilder model...

Now all he needs to do is beat up bums for a few more years, then cherrypick the wrong seemingly faded contender and then make the same mistake again (and lose again).

He's acutely frustrating. For me he passes the eye test, and I enjoy his patient, elusive style and big power. But there's no real way of knowing how he'd fare against top-level opposition until he does it, and he doesn't look like doing it. This makes me suspect he'd come unstuck at the highest level, or else why not take those fights? Perhaps being able to squeeze himself into P4P conversations with a resume topped by Ryan Garcia is his greatest skill.

Exactly, I don’t understand how people can still defend blatant ducking and avoidance. I’ve put that guy on ignore anyway, he’s a prime culprit.

GGG did more than Tank, even though he was a bit of a journeyman slayer. I’ll admit though I’m not his biggest fan, I felt he avoided certain fights and only had one big win (against Jacobs) although he was robbed against Canelo.

I'm not even sure sometimes if they're defending it or just turning threads into a race to the bottom to try and obscure the meaningful comments that harm their narratives - whether it's against a favourite or against someone they hate... We've seen plenty of both, I guess.

If the avoided one was Ward, the timing was never really there. Ward was out for a couple years, retutned as a LtHW saying he could not make 168.

But the main difference is, 3G was a foreign fighter w/, for the most part, a foreign promoter. Tank is American with a promoter who is ahuge celebrity and one of the best at self promotions. Tank has had no legitimate reason to now have stepped up 5-6 years ago.

Just reminds me how good we had it decades ago when guys intheir early 20's were already engaging in top fights. Today's boxing just sucks 90% of the time.

Completely agree, boxing is in a sorry state today and it’s sad to see.
