Bingo. Canelo has a guarantee in place that pays 35 million per fight, regardless of PPV sales. He was NEVER under any obligation to face Benavidez under those terms. He simply conned PBC into believing that he would fight their best guy, when that was clearly never the case.

He is costing them money, to the point that they are now rejecting one of their supposed big money options in favor of an out of house fighter.

    What??

I don't know where you're coming up with everything you're saying. Sounds like Assumptions.

I don't know anything about Canelo's terms with PBC only that it was a three fight deal. I don't know who he promised to face or didn't promise to face, or when or for how much. If you have information about Canelo promising PBC anything in return for anything specific do share.

What I do know is that Canelo has a three fight deal with PBC. One would think that it would be in PBCs and Canelo's best monetary interest to have Canelo fight those three opponents from easier to harder to avoid risking the marketability of the remaining fights.

We also know that the WBC had a March deadline for Canelo to announce whether he would defend his title against his #1 mandatory Benavidez. If Canelo failed to announce he would be stripped. Just like when Golovkin was stripped for failing to commit to fight Derevyanchenko. Same thing.

We are one week away from that Deadline, and Benavidez decides to not wait and enforce his mandatory status. Instead.. get this, it will make your head spin.... instead he moves up to fight a fighter promoted by Canelo promotions who is managed by Eddy Reynoso. Lmao!

That's why I'm asking.. WHY? One week out, and the second biggest money fight is also at 168. Why? Lol

Davids dad coming out today saying Canelo low balled them with a 5m offer, and they still accepted, and never heard from Canelo again. Pathetic.

I thought Benavidez team offered 55 million to Canelo.. oh that was yesterday. Today is Canelo offered 5 million.

So who makes the offers, Benavidez team, or Canelo's team? Who fronts the money? Canelo, Benavidez, PBC, or maybe outside investors? Hmmm?

I don't know anything about PBC rejecting Charlo.

As far as I know Canelo is fighting him in May.

Ok, I don't know exactly why they rejected Charlo, but my educated guess is that PBC doesn't have the investors willing to fork out 35 million and put it in escrow for Canelo of he fights Charlo since the Charlo fight stands a higher chance of generating more money than a fight with Munguia where the investor/s are willing to put Canelo's money in escrow since they're more confident they'll get their return on their investment.

Good. You can start by researching the term 'guarantee', and then reviewing Canelo's three fight, 100+ million dollar guarantee with PBC.

The money was guaranteed up front. 35 million is essentially his flat fee, and PBC is resisting paying that minimum because they don't think Jermall will sell. They would rather split revenue with GBP for Munguia in hopes of turning some sort of profit.

    Are you following?

Stop listening to that clown rick glaser. 'escrow' lol. They just signed with the 5th biggest company in the world and your talking about escrow and investors you half wit. They simply don't want to pay that much for a trash fight with no demand. Canelo is trying to hustle them.

That's a little convoluted. The bare bones of it is that no one wants to see Jermall Charlo on that sort of stage at this point in time. It won't sell, and PBC will lose a ton of money.

... Where is the 35 million dollar figure coming from, btw? I'll answer one more time:

It is Canelo's guarantee, not some number pulled out of someone's ass. He signed a Mayweather-like deal where he gets his 30+ million whomever he fights. The only difference is that Floyd at least allowed PBC to turn profit by giving them the Canelo and Pacquiao fights.

Canelo failed to hold up his end by refusing to fight Benavidez.

    He conned them.

Maybe they don't want to pay. What is more likely true is that PBC is running out of money, ans in cases where there are guarantees an escrow account would be the logical way to transact.

Why would Canelo agree to a fight and risk not getting paid and having to hire a legal team to hopefully get money from a company on its last leg.

Do you think Amazon is going to promote the fights outside is own platform? They're likely, very likely only providing the platform for streaming for a fee, not the promotion.
