The aim of the broadcaster should be to provide a budget which the promoter then uses to make fights which deliver good ratings (advertising revenue) and then a select few fighters become box office stars to deliver PPV revenue.

Oh they share the blame without a doubt.

This will also kill Dazn and ESPN boxing if they follow the same model.

I wonder if Golden Boy gets enough good fighters to become a player again?

Al Haymon would like to thank all the people whose 401k's were sacrificed to keep fighters inactive and to ensure boxing went down the gurgler.

You seem unaware that the broadcaster takes 50% of the ppv revenue. That is how they make a profit. They can't make a profit paying 60m in purses just from advertising. So the point is everyone gets a slice of the pie after the fight. They don't pay the fighters before the fight there is no need to escrow anything. Fights get called off all the time, injury, missed weight, they wouldn't pay them before the fight.

    Which fight? Canelo-Charlo?

    Good riddance, then.

Its speculation from a rabid pbc hater who has been claiming pbc was going out of business for the last 6 years. This clown also believes Benavidez never wanted to fight Canelo.

Well, now Conor Benn has someone to fight. ;)

From a fan's perspective, Canelo and Crawford are back in the same predicament they were before they signed on to PBC.

Arum didn't have anyone for Crawford to fight. Hearn doesn't have anyone for Crawford to fight.

The PBC had Spence and Ennis for Crawford to fight, but Crawford didn't want Ennis after Spence.

And Hearn didn't have anyone for Canelo to fight, so Canelo left for PBC. The PBC has Morrell, has Benevidez ... but it turned out Canelo didn't really want those guys. Just Charlos.

So now Canelo thinks he's fighting Munguia, but Oscar says no. And Crawford has absolutely no one.

So, it's Eddie Hearn to the rescue with Conor Benn. :bananaride

The amount of money that would've been demanded by Canelo and Crawford, combined, this year probably would've exceeded $100 million.

That's $100 million PBC doesn't have to spend on just two fighters. What a huge load off.

Time to sign a bunch of new guys and let them fight regularly and grow on Amazon Prime.

Let PBC and Hayman wither away, not to be missed.

Are you still trying to sell this outright lie?

Benavidez cannot be expected to wait around for Canelo to “fight” Charlo and possibly Crawford. Why should he?

There’s nothing else for Benavidez at 168 so why shouldn’t he make a fight at 175?

Your blind acceptance of Canelo holding the sport to ransom is truly pathetic.

Benavidez' resume at 168 is garbage

The **** you mean there's nothing else for him? There's Morrel, Berlanga, Munguia.

He had seven, eight years to fight the best, instead what who the hell did he fight?:lol:

PBC is dying. They don't have the resources to keep fighters like Canelo or Crawford.

I would not be surprised is Benavidez jumps ship next, and a bunch of other fighters who aren't getting fights.

He's the mandatory for Canelo. Why would he fight the other guys?
