Canelo's single punch output won't serve him well stylistically against Benavidez. He has always been very selective in his choice of opponents. It makes sense that he us ducking one of the guys who would clean his clock.
Much bigger Faster High volume. Power puncher Vastly superior stamina Durable aggressive skilled Much younger Gee I wonder why he won't fight him.
And here you are again stinking up another thread with this propaganda. Canelo is only interested in fighting hobbits these days. He is scared of Benavidez and it’s obvious to anybody who knows anything about anything.
Benevidez to leave PBC as only has 1 fight remaining on his deal. Canelo vs Benevidez to then happen next year in Saudi.
I've been defending Canelo on this one, but I'm thinking I have to admit I'm wrong and Canelo is ducking. See Dan Rafael on X, it seems that PBC were actually willing to put the money up for Canelo's last two fights on the contract as long as he agreed to fight Benavidez in September. Canelo reportedly declined because he doesn't want to fight Benavidez.
In Canelo's defense, that's a breach of contract. They're trying to twist Canelo's arm. How is PBC going to say, we'll pay you 35 million for Jermell, 35 million for Jermall, and 35 million for a third fighter..... Then PBC almost mod contract comes out and says, actually we're paying you 20 million for Jermall, BUT if you do what we tell you to do we'll pay you 35 million. That's horrible business. You can't breach contract and make a new contract. As a fan it's not what we want, but from a business perspective and boxing is business, you can't make promises you can't keep. That's why Canelo was able to walk away, because PBC breached the contract. Now Canelo has better options under DAZN, and DAZN can actually make the Benavidez fight, unlike PBC.
If Canelo thinks PBC committed breach of contract, he should've sued instead of asking for money in escrow. In reality, all they did was insist that he fight Benavidez, who just happened to be his mandatory. This isn't even a point of contention if the WBC did their job and actually enforced DB's position, first as interim champ and THEN as a mandatory. But Canelo engaged in corruption to hold onto his title without defending it against the top guy. I fail to see how Jermell Charlo, a 154lber, was even on the list to begin with. LOL.
Canelo didnt need to sue as he had a way out. Pay my money in escrow by x date or I leave. He could issue such an ultimatum as one he had the legal right to do so and two he knows he is wanted elsewhere by a promoter who will pay what he promises
This is absolutely fantastic Nobody convinces themselves of nonsense like this more than you Shads my old chum
Fair point I also think Canelo beats David so if he ever fights him lots of folks are going to be dissatisfied with the result. I do think Canelo should face him as he is the number one guy but this is boxing and the rules only apply to certain fighters
