Probably Marciano but there’s not a lot in it

Hard to compare because totally divergent style, different pace, they use their ressources in different ways. But i think Marciano definatelly had the better all around durability, than young / prime Ali.

Prime Ali was faster but Ali from Zaire and Manilla had better power, stamina and chin.

Marciano was a featherweight - hard to compare.

That says it for me. I don’t know that I could separate them.

Marciano. He never got tired and his style used allot of energy.

If we're doing this pound for pound, probably Ali as it takes more energy to bounce around at 6'3", 210 lbs than 5'10, 187 lbs.

Also, curious how Marciano would have done going for 15 rounds in the tropical heat of Kinshasa or Manilla?

They were both remarkable. I pick Marciano because he was more consistent, but there is no wrong answer.

Marciano easily. I don't recall him draped all over his opponents trying to catch a breather. His insane stamina is literally one of his defining characteristics.

I heard that Ali could fly too. He brought kiddies presents on christmas, it's well documented.

Until his conversion to Islam, presumably.

Marciano never fought anyone younger and stronger in his entire career. Would he have outlasted a young George Foreman or lasted until Joe Frazier was pulled out against him after 14 rounds of fighting in suffocating far eastern humidity? Can you imagine how good Ali would have looked against Marciano's opposition? Marciano is mythologized on these forums like nobody else in boxing history.

He was the best conditioned fighter ever...not to worry about Marciano's stamina...
