I think it is more likely Benavidez leaves PBC as he only has 1 fight left on his deal and then signs with Matchroom or becomes a free agent to get the Canelo fight.
lol a claim is a statement asserting something to be true. An opinion is someone's belief. Now you are trying to use hearsay as proof Just post a link to Morrell declining the Benavidez fight like you claimed he did. You are embarressing yourself now & showing yourself to be intellectually dishonest
Then why were you guys mad at Canelo for fighting Yildirim? That was his mandatory. No consistency with you Canelo haters.
I'm not mad. Quite the opposite. You'll never appreciate how greatful I am for the distraction you've provided me over the past few days.
You believe Morrell is good. Quit splitting hairs. Go look up Ronnie Shields explaining they weren’t ready for a Benavidez fight. You have the same access I do.
Well I'm actually looking forward to seeing how Benavidez does at 175. From the PBC fallout it doesn't look like he has a shot at the belts this year.
Crazy how this thread devolved into something other than the actual fight that should be being discussed. If this was Gvozdyk pre-Beterbiev I'd say that Benavidez wouldn't have much chance. I don't think that fighter exists anymore and I would say this is a 50/50 fight, slight edge to the guy who has shown he's a killer more recently (David).
Since Gvozdyk came back he has looked very sharp IMO, I'm not sure there has been a decline compared to his pre-retirement level. Whilst he was inactive for a long time he also wasn't taking damage in that period; you could very well be right that father time/inactivity will catch up to Gvozdyk, but given what I've seen from him since his return I'm very optimistic as to his chances vs Benavidez.
You don't think it's opponent level? Gvod is (or was) definitely elite. Beterbiev put it on him though. Guys aren't often the same after that
It's not splitting hairs. The 2 words have different definitions for a reason. A claim & an opinion are not the same thing. Now you are showing your dishonesty by moving the goal posts. As your post below shows I was asking you for proof of Morrell saying no from the time that claim of a signed agreement was made by Benavidez' manager. You've shown nothing to indicate that Morrel said no to the fight since that claim of a signed agreement was made
Your opinion is your claim. But if you really want to know, go look up “Ronnie Shields declines Benavidez fight.” Its on bscene. He literally said he felt Morrell wasn’t ready. I don’t blame him. ““When I first started training [Morrell], after the very first fight, they came and they offered a fight with David Benavidez in the next fight,” Shields recalled. “I told [Morrell’s] managers no.”
Considering David's attributes and skills and domination his whole career why would you think he wouldn't have much chance vs that Gvozdyk?
A claim & an opinion are not the same thing, they have 2 different definitions. Lewkowicz was claiming the signed agreement around the time Morrell had the WBA mandatory against Yerbossynuly coming up. That was Morrell's 8th fight & Shields says they approached Team Benavidez after that & they said no. As your post below clearly indicates, you acknowledge the signed contract & timeframe but have not provided anything to prove that Morrel said no to the fight since that claim of a signed agreement was made
