Catterall's style of boxing fits like dog poo to a shoe regardless of owner. All Catterall's fights are stinkers and this will be the same as in Glasgow. Hopefully Taylor gets a very dodgy points decision with Hearn taking the trilogy fight to Wembley Stadium where 96,000 fans will need more lines than the rail/underground network to stay awake.
Thought I heard Hearn stating that DAZN UK customers, renewing the DAZN UK annual subscription, will get a complimentary 2024 London marathon ticket.
Obviously its good for boxing to have as many eyes on it as possible but this fight is not the one to get crossover appeal going again. Its will have a negative effect if anything.
Respect the view but don't quite agree here, at least in terms of the first fight. Like many, I was expecting Josh to win the first fight in style - undisputed champion in a homecoming. When he really struggled to handle Catterall in the early rounds, I still half expected Taylor's class to prevail. Then when Taylor was knocked down, it was genuinely dramatic. Not pretending that it was a Fury-Wilder III by any means. But the drama of seeing the undisputed champion (seemingly) dethroned, along with the shocking scorecards made it memorable. For the second fight - definitely agree there's a risk of it being poor. Strong chance it'll be a snoozefest of tactical boxing from Catterall, think a lot depends how Taylor makes the weight and if he'll show his undoubted class.
Yep, I'd agree with all of that. Never seen Taylor look so poor, Catterall boxed out of his skin, that made it "exciting", but it wasn't a great fight The return could well end up as a snooze fest, nip and tuck affair. Potentially like Fury Usyk, which may well be bloody awful!
That **** Sam Jones was on the Talksport boxing pod. "I do think Con has been treated differently to other boxers" ****ing hell Sam, he's acted wildly different to all other boxers who have failed for PEDs. How is he a thing in the sport
When's the result of the hearing? If he wins does that mean a precedent will be set and boxers can fail as many VADA tests as they want and the BBofBC can do sweet FA about it?
Did anyone watch the Chisora documentary on DAZN UK? When he was being managed by Toe Haye, there was a photograph taken and he had a 6 pack. It was certainly not there before he was being managed by Haye and never seen again when he left Haye. Looked very impressive when looking back and hopefully the result of good diet combined with good training. The problem now is we treat all fighters with suspicion due to a few rotten eggs.
That is because whatever you think of David Haye, he understands training and diet. Chisora should have stayed with him.
Benn vs Kelly is the rumour I'm hearing. Also firmed up by a Kalle interview this afternoon where he says they're working on a big UK fight for Kelly. Can only be Benn
