Is it just me but there is quite literally ZERO buzz for this?

This isn't a slight at either boxer by the way, but is this the issue with fights in the middle east? It always seems that they don't gather as much excitement?

Cannot help but feel if this was at Wembley it would be massive already.

It is probably the best card they've put on for my interest, Chamberlain vs Gwynne is a great fight (disapointing this isn't in the UK), Vargas vs Ball and Parker vs Zhang are all brilliant.

The Saudi's may have huge piles of loot but the location certainly dilutes the interest in Western Countries until fight week.

The great British Public probably view sport in Saudi similar to DAZN UK - out of sight, out of mind.

The promo they made was brilliant and they also released a little game you can play to win a ticket. I'm sure it will all go into overdrive soon

Be interesting to the UK views this get as there is a relative big football game on at the same time.

Sheff Wed v Leeds which will probably draw between 500,000 to 600,000 on Sky.

Obviously not saying that all those would be watching PPV boxing otherwise if it wasn’t being played, but it is the casual tv audience that PPV boxing thrives on.

As said though, there is no buzz about the AJ fight. Probably around 400,000 on Sky and 50,000 - 75,000 on DAZN would be my guess.

    I do and don't agree.

Yes - there isn't a lot of buzz for this right now. It's a brilliant card and I wish it were in London too.

No - this isn't because of venue, it's common across almost all boxing events, including in the UK and USA. There's a blast of publicity with the press conference 8-10 weeks before, typically just before tickets go on sale. Then radio silence until about a week before when the broadcasters start shoving the PPV event adverts in our faces during football matches etc. Then of course there's fight week events that get the focus where they want it to be.

Only exception I can think of is the Mayweather vs McGregor touring press conference circus, which was the most hyped event I can remember with several weeks lead time.

Yeah, we were 2 weeks out from Undisputed before we even got a promo video. The Saudi’s obviously don’t reply on the casuals buying tickets and PPV

I agree with that, there is a big build up fight week. But I was genuinely surprised when I realised it was next week. Just given how little I've seen of it

But when would you have heard of it before fight week? all big fights kick into overdrive on the Monday with grand arrivals or whatever, there's no events in the weeks before fight week on any fights, you would only see it on adverts

All the buys will be on Sky and TNT Sports with about 500-600 on DAZN UK if they have a good day.

No way DAZN UK are getting close to 1,000 buys with the main players offering better coverage.

Already know what happens. Joshua beats Ngannou better than Fury does, Hearn goes into hyperbole saying he’s the best heavyweight in the world and tries to convince people Usyk doesn’t exist.

Joshua won’t be ill prepared and not taking it serious like Fury. There’s no element of surprise with Ngannou anymore so I think Joshua will stop him on his feet mid-rounds.

I think you've got this spot on. If Joshua comes out as focused as he did vs Wallin then Ngannou will struggle.

Read someone a couple of months ago saying that Ngannou would end his boxing career with a 0-5 record, but with losses to 5 'Top 10' heavyweights. I can certainly see him lined up to face one of Zhang or Parker next, as long as he loses well v Joshua.

If Ngannou can land a decent power shot early in the fight, there is every chance Joshua folds like he did in New York.

Joshua is a proven non elite heavyweight lacking heart, chin and stamina.
