Gvozdyk has IMO: far better footwork better punch variety better at punching on the move more responsible defensively. Gvozdyk really doesn't make many mistakes in the ring, he doesn't give up a lot. Now David is a monster, he's physically imposing, he's a stalker. But he has no size advantage over Gvozdyk here. What he got away with at 168 ain't the same against someone who is a better boxer/puncher and larger than him. That being said, I don't know where Gvozdyk is at this point given his near career ending beating.
All I'm reading are excuses on if Gvodzyk loses. According to many before this fight was announced, Benavidez was an overrated 168lb weight bully & that he would get thrashed at 175. I was also hearing that Gvodzyk was on the comeback trail and looking good. Now that the match is made , suddenly its "I don't know, if Gvodzyk loses its because he's over the hill" tripe.
This. I would take the Gvodzyk that fought Beterbiev without hesitation over Benavidez for many of the reasons you articulated. While Benavidez has faster hands, Gvodzyk I think has better single shot punching power.
They? Moving the goal posts again? You said Morrell & have shown nothing of Morrell declining or saying no. You have completely avoided your own words in your post quoted below acknowledging the claimed signed contract & timeframe that was under discussion. Instead of showing some integrity & admitting you don't have any proof that Morrell declined or said no to the fight from the time Lewkowicz claimed there was a signed contract, you are now continuing to let your ego embarrass you
Gvozdyk has not looked the same during his comeback as he used to and that is just the truth. He looks like someone else trying to do their best impersonation of him. Something is just off and he doesn't look the same And his mental state has to be questioned too. He retired for three years after a demoralizing loss where he took a ton of brutally hard blows and he has seen one of his former stablemates who he knew lose their life to a ring tragedy and one of his former opponents almost lose their life at his hands. I don't think his heart is near fully in the game anymore and I won't be at all surprised if he retires in his corner against Benavidez.
Lmao. “When I first started training [Morrell], after the very first fight, they came and they offered a fight with David Benavidez in the next fight,” Shields recalled. “I told [Morrell’s] managers no.” They declined a fight. Nothing you say changes that.
The discussion wasn't around Morrell's 1st fight with Shields, it was around his 8th pro fight & the claimed signed agreement by Lewkowicz, which you acknowledge in your quoted post below. It's sad watching you continue to embarrass yourself & display your lack of integrity
I can't see how it was a career ending beating. He was not even getting touched up until the tenth, and instantly jumped back up after the fight was stopped. You act like he was knocked out cold or was battered for 10 rounds. That was not a serious beating at all. Plant took far more punishment vs Benavidez for example. If what you say is true and Gvozdyk is so much better, then even a diminished version should be competitive with Benavidez. I will come see you after David steam rollers him. I watched some of the Beterbiev fight and to be honest I'm not that impressed. Davids punches are much faster and sharper, and he hits harder also. No way does Gvozdyk have better punch variety , David throws every punch in the book, with much better combinations. David destroys any version of him.
If someone doesn't fight for 3 years after they are knocked out, that is most assuredly career ending, and for you to act like Beterbiev hadn't been putting it on him for at least the last 3+ rounds before the end is being intellectually dishonest. Also I don't know what you're coming to see me for after the fight, you clearly didn't read my first post................. I already said I'd give a slight edge to Benavidez...............
