They guy went 7 rnds and was practically blind in one eye. Stop it if he was hurt. He wasn't. The flurry landed one or two punches and none hurt Abe.

 

Nelson was looking for any reason to stop that fight and he took advantage. Not the best but I understand why he wanted to end it.

 

It's a bad stoppage any way you slice it. the eye was bad but you stop it for that, not some weak flurry where almost nothing landed clean while Lopez was playing to the ground.

 

Tono Trains Kholmotov? Dayum this is going to get real interesting.

 

I agree, no need to stop it there but would have had no complaints stopping it earlier for the eye

 

Morales fought with worse and against a more dangerous opponent in Maidana. Refs nowadays are very paranoid.

These are prize fighters they fight for money, glory but most of them also have a strong sense of pride. You really are robbing a fighter of that with a garbage stoppage like that.
