I've scratched my cornea before and I had completely blurry, doublish vision and pain.

Regardless of any lack of serious risk to the actual eye fighting like that, can def see why any fighter that cared about their career wouldn't fight with one. Basically fighting with one eye if the scratch is bad enough.

The whole pitch Jake's given to fighting journeyman boxers is too gain experience against actual boxers and improve on his skills, for that too occur he has to pick someone durable that's going to give him some rounds, if he fought Tommy Fury next he'd lose again.. Jake would have gained nothing from these two fights

Jesus, I just seen this replay now and my word. I'm 100% Puerto Rican, I always root for my Rican fighters but this was embarrassing, the whole card/event felt like they were scraping from the bottom of the barrel. Horrible undercards then come find out the main event was cancelled last second and I had to sit there and hear that cringe post from goofy looking Amanda Serrano crying non stop with those big ass sunglasses. She had to get daddy Trinidad to make a saving grace speech so she wouldn't have gotten boo'd off the stage like they did with that teenager earlier in the card. What a joke. I hope Subriel Matias is the real deal because this drought of crappy fighters has taken its toll.

No real Rican gives a damn about Serrano, she doesn't even speak Spanish, my dog speaks more Spanish than her. She's as Nuyo Rican as they come.

All Ricans boxing legends who grew up in New York and still got love in the island. No one will come close to Tito, Cotto and Gomez. Of course islaricans gonna relate more but Nuyoricans are heavily apart of our history and culture. Alot of the Salsa culture started in NYC, along with Hip Hop which hit PR when they mixed it with the Spanish Reggae from Jamaicans in Panama to fuse the genre reggaeton. The cultures will always be connected. Every country will have critics of those who become a diaspora. Italians do it to Italian Americans. Mexicans do it to their relatives in Cali/Texas.

The Puerto Rican flag was created in New York City in 1895 with the Cuban flag.

There's 2X more Ricans living in the USA than Puerto Rico.

Serrano, got to meet in person. Great person but I won't be bias here. Her wearing sun glasses on the weight on and announcing her injury so late wasn't very professional. Also Jake Paul doesn't pay taxes in PR, his brother runs a crypto scam and they both take advantage of the tax exempt in PR. Amanda working with Jake is what disappoints me. Jake is a POS out the ring, and no Puerto Rican welcome him to the island living good while avoiding taxes.

Nuyoricans are still Puerto Ricans. New York City got molded by working class Puerto Ricans since the 1950s. That's beyond the point, Amanda has the support of the island. El Nuevo Dia had tons of article on her before even she became champion. I've lived in Fajardo and trained in the gyms in PR. The support is there. When Matias headlines in PR it will be fireworks. Tito and Matias are good friends grew up a few minutes away from each other. The island is brewing and the time will come if Eddie Hearn can map out and set an event in PR with a good undercard.

Wilfred Benetiz was pretty much raised in the Island, spoke 100% spanish and fought out of and represented PR, Carlos Ortiz was born and raised in the Island and only moved to the states to start his boxing career. Hector Camacho during his prime was never a beloved Puerto Rican fighter, I'm not sure what you mean, especially after the Chapo fight. He frankly wouldn't have gotten killed the way he did if he was as respected as a Trinidad or Gomez, not to mention that he barely speaks Spanish as well. It was only after his death that he started getting the love and respect that he deserved, RIP.

I see Serrano as the same as Danny Garcia. Have Puerto Rican families but don't know a lick of Spanish or really know about their Puerto Rican heritage. It was pretty cringe hearing Amanda attempt to speak Spanish and you could tell she barely understood Trinidad's speech when he tried to bail her out during that post "fight" interview.

Didn't know about the Paul brothers and the taxes thing, what an absolute joke those guys are.

Benetiz born in the Bronx and lived there till he was 7. He went back to PR but he came back to the Bronx often and trained at a gym in the BX too.

Carlos Ortiz moved to New York before his career started and that's where he retired driving taxis and overcoming his demons.

Regardless of critics, prime Camacho was untoucable and no one said he was more loved than Tito. Camacho did in tons of interviews in Puerto Rico and attempted to speak Spanish. Yeah he got mad fun of but so what? Lol He will always be apart of PR boxing history.

Cringe or not, atleast they're trying to speak Spanish. Danny Garcia is a stretch. Serrano be showing out for PR for a while now, she could reach out to Matias to get a card going in June. Regardless of her Spanish, it is clear people want to see her fight because no one gave a damn about Jake Paul fighting Homero Simpson.
