Joshua needs to make it a boxing match and Ngannou needs to make the fight into a brawl that’s how I see it. Joshua can not afford to get into a war and maybe get hit and then let the doubts and possibly low confidence kick back in and make himself hesitant and reluctant to let his hands go,likewise Ngannou can not allow Joshua to get into a boxing rhythm and let himself be picked off round after round and allow Joshua to build confidence as the fight progresses. For Ngannou to win this fight he has to create enough self doubt to try and make Joshua withdraw into his shell and he has to do this early in the fight, the longer this fight goes it favours Joshua, for Joshua to win he needs to just stick to his better boxing ability and avoid engaging with Ngannou .

Unlike Fury, who used to drink a lot, take drugs, not train for months and baloon like a fat pig, AJ is completely different.

AJ has always had professional attitude, even in his amateur days. Always in shape, always a hard worker who doesn't have bad habits that can affect his performances in the ring.

AJ is a seasoned fighter, a two-time world champion with 30 pro fights in a 10-year long career.

Fury's performance vs Ngannou was awful but his fans could at least say he wasn't prepared (and to be honest Fury was the fattest in his career, and he was out of shape so many times previously that it won't surprise anyone). And Fury obviously underestimated Ngannou (as there weren't even footage of Ngannou sparring sessions before their fight).

AJ not only has completely different attitude going into this fight, he also knows where Ngannou is dangerous and what to expect from him.

With that being said, and the fact that AJ is way harder puncher than Fury, I expect him to stop Ngannou inside 7 rounds and probably quicker.

I'd be shocked if Ngannou wins or lasts the distance against AJ.

    I completely agree.
I respect everyone's view - and fights where people disagree about the winner are.good for the sport.
However, I really don't get this one. I think a.declining Fury just turned up against Francis expecting to cruise and nearly paid the price for his hubris. But I fully expect a disclipined and motivated AJ to win fairly comfortably.

I dont like idea of this fight. There is lot to loose here and imo not soo much to win. I think they focus too much to show everyone that Anthony is now better than Fury and can done better what Fury done with problems.

That's not best idea. Chasing dude who already got bigger goal right now.

Win with Francis give Joshua nothing. Almost all expect that and its normal- we got MMA fighter, novice in boxing vs 2 time past world champion.

All problems in that fight just make Joshua got bad press.

Hope Joshua will be sharp like in last fight and got 100% focus and win this in great fashion.

Boxing dont need another cathastrophy after Fury terrible performance.
I have nothing against Ngannou but his place at today Hw is just because he is money fight for best fighter.
I dont like it because we have no idea if he will be able to beat other top 20 dudes but he just get second best possible fight for... Nothing.

I would prefer see him vs Otto Wallin, Ruiz, Chisora or Joyce. If he win- then ok. He deserve more.
Now he is only oberhyped because Fury is lazy fu... and cant even look proper on fight like that.

Cross finger for AJ. If he lose boxing will be dead.

AJ is carrying the entire sport of boxing on his back. Bearing in mind Fury vs Ngannou was a measuring stick.

If Anthony Joshua gets crushed by Francis Ngannou the consequences is this (deservedly so):

    - The entire sport of boxing will take a pay cut

    - Every casual boxing fan will turn there back on the sport because Anthony Joshua is a gold medalist and a two time heavyweight world champion.

    - Why bother with boxing if an ex UFC heavyweight champion destroys the most accomplished boxing champion of the past 10 years.

    As a casual fan.

Joshua can afford to lose as much as he wants and he will still get opportunities in the future, he is protected and brings profit, he can lose knowing that he will easily get to the title fight regardless of the outcome with Nganno, namely Joshua is mentally weak and from the champion came to the loser and without some protection and corruption in boxing he cannot be the champion again...

This reads more like a wishlist of what you want to happen lol. He beat Fury and none of that happened. It would likely be catastrophic for Joshuas career going forward however.

Every aspect of boxing will suffer on a AJ defeat vs Ngannou, including this forum.

With the defeat of Joshua, this forum would experience unforgettable moments and future generations of forum users would be happy to return to the first post about Joshua's defeat against Ngannou...

I don’t think so. Ngannou is a standup fighter who gambled and fought in the UFC instead, time wasn’t on his side really and it isn’t now.

He beat Fury whos supposedly better than AJ and boxing came out unscathed. What's the holdup? Maybe we're waiting for him to beat Chisora? Lol

It would end the idea the best boxers are better fighters than their MMA counterparts.

But I do not believe boxings popularity comes from boxing being considered a superior form of combat. I believe it comes from the sport being more visually enjoyable. Hence why the grappling elements from the 19th century were removed. Theres no way of knowing this but I suspect your run of the mill boxing fan(who isn't invested in bragging rights) already thinks MMA fighters are better fighters. Thats not why most people are watching boxing.

AJs fanbase and Eddie Hearn are the ones with the most at stake. Also a lot would depends on what Francis did after the fight. Its fiction but I imagine Rocky Balboa winning fights after beating Apollo softened the blow considerably.
